Odds to Win NBA Championship at Bovada.lv
With Kevin Durant back into the fold, the Warriors are the odds-on favorite to win the NBA Title at -175. They would undoubtedly be the favorites to take down the title even without KD, but Durant makes them the clear favorite.
Cleveland comes in at second at +333. After holding the East’s top seed for most of the season, the Cavaliers collapsed down the stretch finish second behind Boston. Their defensive struggles have been widely noted, but they still opted to rest their stars down the stretch. It’s crazy to think the defending NBA champions may be available as aa buy-low opportunity, but it appears that is the case.
The Spurs come in at the third spot at +650. Always unheralded and seemingly a “dark horse” no matter how well they play, the Spurs have some awfully attractive odds for a team that won an outstanding 61 games this season.
The Rockets and the Celtics are both at +1600. You have to believe Boston has a better shot of coming out of the East, particularly with the way the Cavaliers have been playing lately. Houston has come through with one of their best seasons in years, but it’s worth noting they finished with only a slightly better record than the Clippers and Jazz.
Both of those teams have 51 wins and are a much better defensive team than Houston. Utah is especially attractive at +10000. They have the same win total as the Clippers which are +4000 to win the title.
Behind Boston, I’m not sure that the Wizards are getting enough credit. They’re coming off their best regular season since 1979 as a franchise. The East is weaker than ever with the Cavaliers faltering.
I don’t consider Toronto a legitimate title threat and Washington has an excellent first round matchup against the Hawks. They beat the three out of four teams during the regular season and should advance with ease. They’re healthy and match up well against Cleveland and Boston.
