What Team Will Demaryius Thomas Be On After Trade Deadline?

Team Odds
Denver Broncos +400
New England Patriots +500
Seattle Seahawks +700
Washington Redskins +800
Carolina Panthers +850
Any Other Team -350

My Pick: The Broncos seem like an awfully nice bet here at +400. Denver has said they’re not shopping him ahead of the deadline. Of course, teams say things, and they do other things. We all know that. But, it doesn’t make much sense for them to get rid of him, not just yet anyway. They’re still in the playoff picture at 3-4 in the AFC. And, by the looks of this list, he doesn’t exactly fit these other teams too well. As many are out of contention, or not ideal trade candidates for an aging receiver. -350 is too much to pay for any other team when I feel like he will remain in Denver. However, Thomas will almost certainly be cut this offseason as he commands a $13.5 million salary next year.

What Team Will Patrick Peterson Be On After Trade Deadline?

Team Odds
Philadelphia Eagles +300
Arizona Cardinals +400
New York Jets +500
Pittsburgh Steelers +800
Kansas City Chiefs +800
Dallas Cowboys +1000
Any Other Team -350

My Pick: Arizona’s All-Pro cornerback asked for a trade, but then recanted his request an Instagram post, which suggested a long-term commitment to the franchise. We’re not really buying it. Arizona is in full rebuild with a young quarterback and a terrible offensive line. Their defense isn’t too hot, either. And, they’re firmly out of the playoff picture at 1-6.

The Eagles seem like a solid candidate to land Peterson. Their weakest area is cornerback, and their pass rush has been less than impressive this year. It may not take much to land Peterson from the Cardinals as we get closer to the final hours of the trade deadline and Philadelphia has already been rumored to be in trade talks with other teams. At +300, they seem like a solid bet.

Next Player To Be Traded From the Oakland Raiders

Team Odds
Jordy Nelson +400
Derek Carr +500
Marshawn Lynch +500
Jared Cook +750
NY Defensive or Special Teams Players +125
Any Other Offensive Player +175

My Pick: The Raiders fire sale began before the season started with the Khalil Mack trade. However, there are still more players to be dealt after the Amare Cooper trade this past week. I don’t think Derek Carr will be dealt as Oakland will give him the rest of the season to prove that he’s worth bringing back next year or if the team should invest in a new franchise quarterback. Them keeping Lynch doesn’t make sense, but he does have some meaning to the franchise. More importantly, I doubt many teams are interested in an aging running back who is currently on the shelf for a few weeks.

That brings us down to Jordy Nelson and Jared Cook. Jordy has shown he’s got something left in the tank, but the odds on this market are the “next player to be traded,” so it’s a bit random which one of Cook or Nelson goes first or at all. I’d lean towards Cook, especially with the need for tight ends in this league. There are at least half a dozen teams with a need at that position. Cook also a generous +750.
