Odds To Win 2018 FIFA World Cup – Outright Winner
The usual suspects are up top in Germany and Brazil. The Brazilians are narrowly the odds-on favorite in Russia, at +400, but right behind them are the defending World Champions, in Germany at +400. Behind them, we have Spain at +550 and France at +600. Rounding out the top teams before we head into 10/1 or better territory is Argentina at +900.
Any of these top teams have a chance to win the World Cup and predicting them to do so isn’t anything special that you won’t find anywhere else. One team that has longer odds but than it should in my mind is Portugal. The team still has world-class talent and is coming off a 2016 Euro Cup victory. At 22/1, we’ll take a chance on the Portuguese football squad to dethrone Germany and beat Brazil.
As a true dark horse, I like Peru. They have a favorable draw in Group D and their top weapon, Paolo Guerrero, is back after a temporary lift from his doping ban for the World Cup. He makes them a different team. They also haven’t lost in 15 straight games after finishing up their final World Cup tune-up against Saudi Arabia last weekend. They’re +15000 to win it all, making a hundred dollar wager pay a whopping $15,000. La Blangquirroja is severely undervalued at 150/1.
Uruguay To Win Group A
Uruguay’s odds were better in the months leading up to this, but I still think at -120 they are an excellent bet to win this group. All of these teams are vastly below Uruguay talent-wise, and they should have no issues breezing through Group A and grabbing the top spot.
Peru To Advance To Knockout Stage – Group C
Building off our above bet, we’re loving Peru’s chances of advancing out of Group C. It will take some magic, but this team is being undervalued by the market at the current price. They have the talent to win this Group, if you’re feeling especially ambitious on their chances, that is also available at +800 at SportsBetting.ag.
Costa Rica To Advance To Knockout Stage – Group E
SportsBetting.ag has some of the best odds in the market for Costa Rica to advance from Group E at +400. They are coming off their best performance in World Cup history in 2014 after reaching the quarter-finals four years ago. They have their sights set on greater glory in this one. They could easily flame out in the group stage, but there is a ton of value at 4/1 for a team with this much talent.
