Analyzing The 2020 Presidential Betting Odds

The most significant change from the odds before the debate is that the top of the race seems to be a dead heat between Biden, Warren, and Harris. They’re all list at +300 to win the nomination.

Previously, Kamala Harris, currently a Senator from California, lead the field at +200 odds.

Harris And Biden – Too Much Spotlight?

Harris and Biden, both considered front-runners, were being attacked for much of the debate. Biden for his harsh drug penalties and immigration stances throughout his career as a Senator and Harris’ record as California prosecutor.

Tulsi vs Kamala Debate Heats Up!

Tulsi Gabbard, a representative from Hawaii, took many shots at Harris throughout the debate. Google searches for her name exploded after last night’s debate, and after her attacks on Harris, the #KamalaHarrisDestroyed began trending on Twitter.

Her odds moved from +3300 before the debate to get the Democratic nomination to +2000.

Other Line Movements To Note

Another outsider candidate, Andrew Yang, also impressed voters. Yang’s odds for the nomination went from +2300 to +1200.

Former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke has also seen his popularity increase, along with his odds for the nomination. After a strong performance in the first night of debates, his odds went from +6500 to +3300.

Bernie Sanders Odds Improved

Bernie Sanders almost was nominated in 2016, but ultimately lost out to Hillary Clinton. His odds for the Democratic nomination did not improve much. They went from +765 to +700.

Still, Sanders bettors and supporters must feel good on his chances after his performance in the debate the other night. He had a massively following in 2016 and is still right in the hunt.

Beating Trump Is Still Going To Be Difficult

The odds for the debate didn’t change the minds of anyone who will be in the White House in January of 2021.

Trump and the Republican Party are still at -200 to win in November of next year.

The Democratic Party is +160.
