Teams Odds To Win The 2018 NCAA Tournament
Oddsmakers have Villanova as the top No. 1 seed in the tournament. They are +600 and are slim favorites to win the National Title, just ahead of Virginia at +650. From there we the Blue Devils at +850 and round out the top five with Kansas at +1000 and Purdue, Cincinnati, Michigan State, and Arizona all at +1200.
The South Region is headed by Virginia and the No. 1 overall seed by the committee (but not the oddsmakers). This is a tough draw for them as they face some fierce competition in a region where Virginia, Kentucky, Nevada, and Loyola-Chicago look like teams to headed to the Sweet 16. Davidson feels like a sharp dark horse pick at 250/1.
Villanova is the top seed in the East, but I don’t mind picking up upset here with No. 2 Purdue to come out of the East. Wichita State is the scariest No. 4 seed in the entire tournament is the easiest from this bracket, other than the top seeds, to be in the Sweet 16. They also offer an excellent payout if they win the title, at +4500.
Kansas will be at home in Omaha and Wichita and should benefit from some home fans. However, they bowed out early in the tournament under similar circumstances last year. Duke is ahead of Kansas at +800 to win the tournament with the Jayhawks at +1200. N.C. State is criminally underrated being seeded at No. 9 and have a real shot against Kansas if they manage to get past Seton Hall. The Wolfpack is 250/1 to win it all.
Xavier is the top seed in what most think is the worst region in the tournament, the West. No. 2 seeded North Carolina is the better team, but both at +1400 to win the Big Dance. We like throwing money down on UNC far better than Xavier at these prices. Gonzaga strikes us as a dark horse to come out of the West and has +1500 at Bovada regarding their title chances.
