The news the New England Patriots fans were afraid to hit the news cycle on Tuesday morning. QB Tom Brady won’t be a Patriot in 2020 and will seek a new team.
The more I write about, the more it’s hard to believe, but here we are.
MyBookie and Bookmaker are the only sportsbooks right now offering odds for Tom Brady’s new team. Let’s take a quick look at the odds:
Tampa Bay Buccaneers -110
The Bucs weren’t amongst the favorite when the entire discussions about Brady started. But Tampa Bay has been the most aggressive franchise trying to land TB12.
The great part of it is they haven’t disguised their interest. If anything, Tampa Bay has been the most intense team seeking the veteran QB.
Head coach Bruce Arians coached Ben Roethlisberger, Peyton Manning, and Andrew Luck in the past. He wants to work with Brady to try to add some championship mentality to his team.
Tampa Bay had the best passing offense in the NFL in 2019. Jameis Winston led the league with 5109 passing yards, but the problem is he threw 30 interceptions too.
Arians believes his team can have the same airpower with Tom Brady and cut 90% of those mistakes with the veteran QB in charge.
Tampa Bay is all-in trying to land Brady.

Los Angeles Chargers +130
The Chargers are right behind the Bucs because they offer the best fit for Tom Brady.
The team is moving to a new stadium, and adding Brady to the roster will ensure fans coming to the games. It was hard for the Chargers to have fans in the last three years. Brady changes everything.
Also, Tom will be back in California, where he grew up. It’s a win-win situation.
In terms of the roster quality, the Chargers have two great wideouts, a very good tight end, and two solid running backs. Their defense is loaded with talent, too.
The only situation where they lose to Tampa Bay is the head coach. Bruce Arians is a better coach than Anthony Lynn. Other than that, the Chargers make the most sense for Tom Brady.
Indianapolis Colts +600
The Colts are seeking Philip Rivers as their new QB. Up to this point, Indianapolis made it clear they were not aiming for Tom Brady.
But also, how weird will it be too seeing him dressed as an Indianapolis Colt? Indy was one of the Patriots’ biggest rivals in the last 20 years. I can’t see it happening.
San Francisco 49ers +700
Are the 49ers really in play? San Francisco will have to pay Brady and look for a trade for Jimmy Garoppolo. It seems complicated.
The move made more sense when Tom Brady was a member of the New England Patriots.
However, 49ers fans can dream about an offense with Kyle Shanahan’s fantastic play-calling and a quarterback who can win big games.
The 49ers were Tom Brady’s team as a child. But, the contract situation looks too complicated to become a reality.
