College Football Betting – What Did We Learn After Three Weeks?

alabama football team

By the time the College Football playoffs hit the calendar I’m going to learn how to write the name Tua Tagovailoa without googling it. I’m not there, yet. But what I do know is I have learned one or two things about this College Football season after just three weeks. Let’s hit it!

What Bama is doing is just unfair…

We all know Alabama will be at the National Championship game in January. The question is who will be the runner-up? The insertion of QB Tua Tagovailoa to the starting lineup changed everything, and it’s not fair. Before, we at least used talk ourselves into a potential upset down the road. That small window is closed already. Bama is averaging 56.7 points per game after three weeks. Like having the best defense in football wasn’t enough, their offense has made the rest of the SEC teams look like Savannah State.

The Head coaching overrated Bowl? Chip Kelly wants in…

Jim Harbaugh MichiganThree weeks ago I told you the loser of the Michigan vs. Notre Dame game was going to end up having the most overrated head coach in College Football. Jim Harbaugh lost to Brian Kelly, so the crazier of the Harbaugh got the title. But Chip Kelly has made himself a quick challenger after just three weeks. UCLA is not only 0-3 SU, but they are averaging 17.3 points per game. Wasn’t Kelly an offensive guru when he left Oregon for the NFL? Let’s just keep betting against them every weekend.

Notre Dame fooled us all…

And now that we mentioned Notre Dame, the Irish delightfully fooled us all. A victory in an overblown matchup against Michigan made us think they were good. They haven’t covered the spread since, and their offense looks pedestrian at best.

Let’s ride Kyler Murray’s wave…

I like Oklahoma’s QB Kyler Murray. It’s never easy to come right after an Oklahoma icon like Baker Mayfield and fill the shoes of a Heisman Trophy winner, but he has done a fantastic job. All three starts for Murray have taken the score OVER the game total. Who’s in for a 700-combined points National Championship game between the Tide and the Sooners? Sign me up.

Let’s just stay away from Clemson for now…

Head Coach Dabo Swinney has had a great run for the past three seasons, but this is not their year. Their defense will keep them in games, but freshman QB Trevor Lawrence needs to be polished. They failed to cover against Furman, Texas A&M, and Georgia Southern. They won’t cover many games at the same time they are babysitting Lawrence on offense.

Stanford heartbreaking loss is coming within the next month…

This is precisely the part of the season where Stanford gets you to suck in and make you think they are playoffs worthy. They are nasty on defense with a solid running game that can get the job done. But somehow, they will find the way to lose one of the next four games. Oregon, Notre Dame, Utah, and Arizona State will all present different challenges. Stanford will likely be favored against all, but something is going to happen. I know it, and you know it. They will have one of those nights where the offense can’t move the ball, and the defense gets tired at the end while they lose by a field goal. We have seen it too many times under head coach David Shaw. Don’t tell me I didn’t warn you.
