The quest for the four best College Football teams in 2020 was controversial, to say the least. But on January 1, 2021, nobody is going to care.
The 2020-2021 College Football Playoffs will have the top four teams when Alabama clash against Notre Dame and Ohio State vs. Clemson on New Year’s Day.
Before getting into the matchups, let’s review a few useful pointers for those starting in the betting world.
Tips To Bet On The NCAAF Playoffs
Shop For The Best Line At A Trustworthy Sportsbook
Line shopping is one of the best tools available for new bettors.
We recommend BetNow because we trust them, and they offer competitive odds. But it’s always important to compare to find the best number.

Most of these sportsbook bonuses have rollovers, and that’s ok. That’s the game. But that doesn’t mean you can’t take advantage by placing some savvy bets.
Prop Bets Are A Great Way To Make Money
Most newbies will go straight to the spread and the game total without giving a second thought to the proposition bets.
Prop bets are a great way to win because the people making the odds are not always confident about their numbers. Hit those NCAAF prop bets in the College Football Playoffs.
Now we can go to break down the games.

Many people think Notre Dame doesn’t belong inside the top four teams. They will likely be the red carpet for Bama to reach the National Championship game, and you can tell by the size of the spread.
Alabama opened -17.5, but that number was quickly off the board. Now the Tide is -19.5 in most places, but I see -20 in many other sportsbooks.
If you like Bama to cover the spread, then grabbing the -19.5 is a must because that number is climbing.
Nick Saban’s team is a fast-paced team averaging 49.7 points per game this season.
The only game where they didn’t reach 40 points was in the season opener against Missouri when they scored 38.
In four of the last five outings, Alabama scored over 50 points, including 63 over Kentucky.
What About Notre Dame?
Notre Dame didn’t prove they are worthy when they got killed by Clemson 34-10 in the ACC Championship game.
History is not on their side, either. Notre Dame is 0-6 in a BCS or New Year’s Six bowl game since 1998, and opponents have outscored the Irish by 144 points.
Yet, the Irish red-shirt freshman tailback Kyren Williams had six 100-yard games.
Alabama struggled against rushing driven teams. Williams’ rushing yards could be a solid prop bet for this game.
Bet: Alabama -19.5.

Last season’s playoffs matchup between Clemson and Ohio State was an absolute banger.
The Tigers clinched another National Championship berth by returning from a 16-0 deficit while giving Ryan Day and Justin Fields their first career losses.
Watch the tape. It’s fantastic. There are so many stars in that game.
The betting line for the rematch opened with the Tigers -7, but it has moved half of a point across most sportsbooks. Right now, 53% of the public is backing Clemson.
The Tigers have played twice as many games as the Buckeyes this season. Their only loss was against Notre Dame on a night Trevor Lawrence sat because of COVID-19.
This might be Lawrence and Fields’ last game for their Alma Matters. Both are likely to go to the NFL, with Trevor as the number one pick joining the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Trevor Lawrence is 34-1 in his career, including a 25-0 start before losing the National Championship game against LSU last season.
Justin Fields is 19-1 in his career, with the lone loss coming against Clemson.
Fields’ Injury Challenge
Fields is dealing with a thumb injury, but the QB mentioned he would be ready to go for the playoffs.
Justin has thrown five interceptions this season, three against Indiana. Those five picks are more than the three he threw last season.
The game also has a little bad blood. Not only because of the meeting last season, but because Clemson’s head coach Dabo Swinney said Ohio State is not playoffs worthy after playing only five regular-season games.
Bet: Clemson -7.5.
