Will Joe Rogan Moderate a 2020 Presidential Debate? Democratic candidate for President, Andrew Yang, thinks so:
— Andrew Yang (@AndrewYang) August 14, 2019
And so do more than 160,000 signatures of the petition to have Joe Rogan moderate a 2020 presidential debate.
Rogan has one of the most popular podcasts on the planet, and he’s also a UFC commentator. MMA News reported that fans of mixed martial arts would love to see Rogan moderate a 2020 presidential debate. He’s already had plenty of experience with interviewing candidates from both sides of the political spectrum:
Democratic Presidential Candidates On Rogan’s Podcast
Yang, who tweeted his support for Rogan as a moderator for a presidential debate, appeared on the comedian’s podcast six months ago. That conversation now has 3.6 million views on the “Joe Rogan Experience” YouTube channel.
One of the pillars for Yang’s candidacy is a universal basic income. A successful entrepreneur, Yang was also recently endorsed by Elon Musk.
Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard
Additionally, Rogan had U.S. Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard on his well-known podcast three months ago. They discussed Edward Snowden and Julian Assange, the military-industrial complex, and Hillary Clinton’s doomed candidacy in 2016.
Gabbard resigned her post as a Vice-Chair for the Democratic National Committee to endorse Bernie Sanders three years ago.
It was Gabbard’s second time on Rogan’s podcast. Collectively, she’s garnered nearly 4 million views with those two appearances.
Debates Draw Millions Of Viewers
So far, the Democratic presidential debates have drawn 10-15 million viewers per episode. Rogan is certainly no stranger to fierce competition.
Bernie Sanders On Rogan’s Podcast
Yang and Gabbard are both Democratic presidential candidates. However, Bernie Sanders is likely favored as a contender, and he has the best chance at beating Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election.
Bernie appeared on Rogan’s podcast last week. During the podcast, they talked about Bernie’s “socialist policies” – or the distorted view the media portray of them – and whether aliens are real or not.
“Would you let us know?” Rogan asked the Democratic hopeful.
Sanders replied that his wife would demand that he told the public the truth.
Over the past week, Rogan’s conversation with Sanders has drawn 8.6 million views.
Betting Odds That Rogan Will Moderate The 2020 Presidential Debate
Although petitions can sometimes be a decent barometer of public opinion, they don’t necessarily mean that the public will get what it wants. The internet has been abuzz, however, over the last few days regarding the possibility of Rogan moderating a presidential debate.
Will Joe Rogan Moderate A 2020 Presidential Debate?
Pat Morrow, Bovada head oddsmaker, tweeted that the gambling site also agreed Rogan would make for a great debate moderator.
Having Rogan host a 2020 presidential debate seems to make a lot of sense. He asks questions of political candidates that need to be asked, and in earnest. Common sense would make it an easy choice.
The world’s more complicated than that.
It’s a safe bet – to bet against it happening.
