An easy matchup against Georgia Southern welcomes LSU to the 2019 season. In week two, there is a real battle of two teams with aspirations to get to the College Playoffs, when they visit Texas to take on the Longhorns.
The following three weeks for the Tigers are quite easy as they play against Northwestern State, Vanderbilt and Utah State.
What comes next will tell the story of the LSU 2019 season
Hosting the Florida Gators and the Auburn Tigers is challenging enough. But right after those games, they get to visit Alabama.
Those three outings in the span of the four weeks become the most critical part of the year.
The last stretch isn’t easy, either

The Tigers will have seven starters on offense back this season. Their major addition comes on the coaching staff as they added Joe Brady, who was the offensive assistant with the New Orleans Saints.

The defensive side will have eight starters back. The unit is the reason LSU has the potential to go from good to a playoffs team.
The Tigers will get back two solid playmakers in DT Rashard Lawrence and DE Breiden Fehoko. Both are coming off injuries.
The biggest challenge for the unit will be replacing LB Devin White, who left for the NFL.
Junior Jacob Phillips is the right man for the job, although it is a tough ask.
Strong safety Grant Delpit is the leader of the secondary. Delpit should be an All-American this season if he keeps getting better.
