NBA 2018-19 Season Betting Preview: Odds To Win The 2019 NBA Finals

NBA 2018-19 Season Betting Preview | Odds To Win 2019 NBA Finals

It’s almost that time for the NBA 2018-19 season betting preview.  The NBA returns this Tuesday evening with two games on the schedule as the 76ers take on the Celtics in Boston and the Thunder visit the defending champion, Warriors, in Oakland. With the regular season almost here, let’s look at the future odds to win the NBA title and some other season-long markets, such as Most Valuable Player and Rookie of the Year. If you are looking to get on the action we recommend our most trusted Sportsbetting Sportsbook which offers 50% up to $1000 for new deposits when betting on NBA basketball games.

Betting Odds To Win The 2019 NBA Championship

  • Golden State Warriors -175
  • Boston Celtics +600
  • Houston Rockets +800
  • Los Angeles Lakers +1000
  • Philadelphia 76ers +1400

The full list of odds is available at SportsBetting.ag. Above are the top ten teams favored to win the NBA Title. As you can see, the Warriors are the firm favorites to win it all after defeating the Cavaliers in a sweep last season to take down the NBA Championship. The real question is – will the Golden State Warriors repeat? Well, it seems likely, not only according to the oddsmakers but to those who follow the NBA – it’s hard to see this team not winning another title. They’re actually a better team they were last season, after adding ex-Pelican, DeMarcus Cousins in free agency.

NBA 2018-19 Season Betting Preview | Odds To Win 2019 NBA FinalsCousins won’t start the season with New Orleans and could be out several months due to a torn Achilles last season, but he should be fine for any late-season and playoff run. The issue I have with betting on other teams in futures markets against the Warriors is that even an injury wouldn’t necessarily derail their chances much of repeating.

They’re so stacked that even Durant or Curry or some of the lesser Warriors, such as Green or Thompson wouldn’t put much a dent in their title chances. I’m not saying don’t wager on another team if you see something I am not, but it would take a Warriors’ team jet plane crash for them not to win their third straight title.

Betting Odds To Win the 2018 NBA Rookie of the Year

  • Luka Doncic +250
  • Deandre Ayton +275
  • Collin Sexton +700
  • Kevin Knox +700
  • Marvin Bagley +1000

Luka Doncic is the odds-on favorite to win ROY, and it’s hard to argue with the oddsmakers and their high opinion of the young Slovenian. He’s already gotten the praise of Mavericks’ great, Dirk Nowitzki, and will step into an offense with Dennis Johnson Jr. and DeAndre Jordan. Dallas also has one of the best coaches in the league in Rick Carlisle who can maximize talent.

If we go down the list a little further, Collin Sexton at +700 is intriguing.  The Cavaliers used their #8 overall pick for their point guard of the present and future. They’re certainly trying to compete in a down Eastern Conference after the departure of LeBron. With so much usage gone – Sexton could step into a situation where he’s relied on profoundly and if he plays well – he could vault to the top of the betting odds and could be a vale at +700.

Betting Odds to Win the NBA Scoring Title

  • Anthony Davis +275
  • James Harden +300
  • Giannis Antetokounmpo +700
  • LeBron James +800
  • Devin Booker +1200

With Cousins gone from New Orleans, the oddsmakers have Anthony Davis favored to lead the league in scoring. This doesn’t seem like much a leap with the usage he will get on a roster devoid of other major offensive options. Right behind him is Harden who plays in one of the most offensive friendly systems in all of basketball. James may be a trendy pick after his move to LA to dominate possessions and score more than he did in Cleveland, but I am not sure that will be the case. He will face a tougher schedule in a crowded and tough Western Conference.

To me, Devin Booker at +2000 is the most intriguing out of this category. He’s already one of the NBA’s best players and is on a team where he no competition for scoring. The Suns will be a better team this year, and he’s already shown his ability to dominate. He’s one of the best three-point shooters in the league and already has 60 and 70-point games on his resume. I could easily see him making a big jump from the 24.9 points per game he averaged last season.

Betting Odds To Win Regular Season NBA MVP Award

  • LeBron James +400
  • Anthony Davis +450
  • Giannis Antetokounmpo +450
  • James Harden +700
  • Kevin Durant +1000

Lebron James and Anthony Davis lead the way as the favorites to win league MVP. Once again, I’m not sure this is the year to bet on James. The offense will center around him in Los Angeles, but he’s also going to be in a much tougher conference. The Lakers are not a team that I am picking to make the playoffs this season. In the upper tier, if anyone is going to make the leap this season, it is going to be the Greek Freak, Giannis Antetokounmpo. At +450, I love his chances of jumping from superstar to legend this season. Remember, Giannis is still not even in his prime. He’s only 23 years old and is in a down conference with a team that should be a lot better this season.
