We have been waiting for this one for a while, and it’s finally here. LSU and Alabama are fresh off their bye weeks and ready to clash to see who is the best team in the SEC and perhaps in the entire nation.
Clemson and Ohio State will be ready to jump ahead of whoever loses the matchup between the Tide and Tigers. However, both programs will have to deal with their own challenges this weekend.
Keep also an eye on Wisconsin, who has lost two in a row and will host the dangerous Iowa team.

Maryland fooled us all when they destroyed Syracuse in week two by a 43-point margin. Since then, they have lost six of their last seven. Against Ohio State, they should add their fifth loss in a row. This one is going to be ugly.
Ohio State is going to use the next two games against Maryland and Rutgers as sparring sessions. The real deal will be clashing against Penn State and Michigan in the last two games of the season.
The Buckeyes have the best point differential in College Football, averaging 48.3 points per game while allowing 7.9 PPG.

Strange enough, this game has two undefeated teams clashing to keep unbeaten status. We don’t talk enough about Penn State’s chances to get into the College Football playoffs. Yet, the program is merely one win away from getting a spot inside the top four.
If Penn State beats Ohio State next week, who is going to be bold enough to leave them out of the playoffs?
Minnesota has a similar story with a much lower ceiling. The Golden Gophers are also unbeaten after eight contests, but this is the first time they will face a ranked team this year.
They better get used to facing good teams because after taking the Nittany Lions, they will have to deal with Iowa next week.

How many times do we get to see the best two ranked teams in the nation before the National Championship game? Not many.
LSU has lost eight straight in the series against Alabama, but this is the best chance they will get to beat the evil empire.
Burrows May End The Losing Streak
QB Joe Burrows has thrown 30 touchdowns this year, which is already an all-time mark in LSU’s program. He has only been picked off four times.
Burrows is listed -115 to win the Heisman Trophy. A victory over Bama will probably seal the deal for him winning the award.
QB Tua Tagovailoa is expected to be ready to face LSU on Saturday night. Tua underwent surgery three weeks ago to repair the high ankle sprain he suffered against Tennessee. He has been limited in practice all week.
Alabama opened -7, but the line has been dropping in the last couple of days. Most sportsbooks are dancing around -6.5 and -6, and just a few have gone as low as -5.5.
