NFL Week 1 Betting Preview: Odds, Lines, and Picks
The NFL season is nearly here, well, not just yet, but that hasn’t stopped online sportsbooks from releasing regular season odds for the Week 1 football games. Yes, it may not even be August yet, but you can wager on Week 1 NFL games at most online betting sites.
Of course, we haven’t even gone through training camp to see any surprise cuts, nor the preseason. There’s no reason to speculate on Week 1 games. Except, it’s NFL football, and there are betting odds on it. So, we’re doing it. Without further ado, here some are of our way-too-early favorite NFL bets for Week 1 games.

Green Bay Packers Vs Chicago Bears Betting Odds And Lines
It’s the NFL’s opening game on Thursday, Sept 5th, and it is a good one. The NFC North rivals will go at it as Aaron Rodgers visits Chicago to take on the Bears. Mitch Trubisky and Company have been installed as a -3.5 favorite.

The Bears are a great football team, but I don’t think the Packers are much further behind, mainly since they got rid of Mike McCarthy for a new-age coach in Matt LaFleur. Roster-wise, the Packers have an offense to score on anyone and still have the best quarterback in the league.
I’m still skeptical of Mitchell Trubisky’s talent and believe the coaching upgrade is worth more than is being accounted into the odds here. Three points plus the hook is one of our favorite bets of Week 1, and I doubt it will be available as we get closer to kickoff.
NFL Betting Pick: Green Bay Packers +3.5
Detroit Lions Vs Arizona Cardinals Betting Odds And Lines
This game won’t draw too many headlines as an afternoon game in Week 1, but it is one I like from a betting perspective. I’ve seen some chatter on social media about the Cardinals in this matchup. You could make a case for them at +3 if the odds should move there, but I still think it’s a poor one.

We can talk all about Kyler Murray and the new hire in Kliff Kingsbury as head coach, but Arizona still has one of the worst rosters in the league. Their defense dropped off in a big way last season, and there is no guarantee that Murray lights the world on fire in Week 1.
We’re also getting an excellent price at -2.5. Detroit was decimated by injuries in the offseason and added some help to both offense and defense. Their division is tough, and I am not particularly high on them in 2019, but they should be able to win this game and cover the -2.5 spread.

Houston Texans Vs New Orleans Saints Betting Odds And Lines
The Texans head to the Big Easy to take on the Saints in the first game of the Week 1 Monday Night Football doubleheader. Week 1 is one of my favorite weeks of the year, simply because we get two games on Monday Night. New Orleans is a touchdown favorite in a game that has the highest over-under of Week 1 at 53.5 points.

Houston was 11-5 last season but had one of the easiest schedules in the league, littered with backup quarterbacks and rookie signal-callers. Their schedule is much more stringent this year, and there haven’t been many changes to their roster or coaching staff.
New Orleans, on the other hand, was literally a drive away from making the Super Bowl. And, if not for some poor officiating would have likely faced the Patriots in the Super Bowl.
I suspect these odds will move closer to -10 in favor of NO as we get closer to kickoff. This is a much more significant mismatch than their records from the previous year would indicate – I expect a New Orleans blowout.
