Let’s bet on the fourth minor of the 2018-19 DPC which is about to kick off as we near to the 2019 edition of The International. Four teams already confirmed their spots and time is running out for the rest of the pack to punch their ticket. The minor involves 5 different teams from the top 20 in the Dota Pro Circuit rankings, but realistically speaking the only happy side will be the one that gets to go to Disneyland and participate in the major, hoping to reenact Vici Gaming’s Cinderella-esque run from minor winner to victors in DreamLeague Season 11.
OGA Dota PIT Minor 2019 Tournament Info
The tournament’s format is more thorough than the one used at the previous minor, beginning with a round robin group stage with two groups of four, battling strictly for playoff seeding. Almost every match in the event is a best-of-three, apart from most of the lower bracket matches (bo1) and the grand finals (bo5).

Comeback kings?
EHOME already managed to successfully navigate through a minor in Bucharest earlier this year, eventually picking up 900 DPC points with their 5-6th finish in Chongqing. Currently 12th in the DPC rankings, a repeat performance here could be one of their best remaining chances to book a ticket for TI 2019. At +800, perhaps this is worth holding your fire on.
The Ninjas against the field
From a betting perspective, the most pressing question is whether Ninjas in Pyjamas’ paltry +100 odds for the outright win could possibly constitute good value. They’ve somehow managed to drop two of their group stage games but proceeded to win 2-0 in both their playoff games so far: with two more series wins required to snatch that qualification spot, the fourth-placed finishers of the Kuala Lumpur Major (and currently seventh-placed side in the DPC rankings) could very well make it happen despite their early wobbles at the event. Alliance, the second favorites in the bookmakers’ eyes, are prized in at +431 and can still meet the Ninjas in the upper bracket final.
Veni, vidi, vici?
Vici Gaming did the impossible and won the DreamLeague Season 11 major after qualifying through the minor. It’s an interesting betting quirk that you can already wager on the non-specified minor winner as the Disneyland Major’s eventual victor, +1750 at the time of writing, which puts them square in the middle of the pack. (ViCi themselves are offered at +897.)
