Yes, the most popular soccer league in the world is about to get underway again, and Liverpool fans can breathe the sigh of relief, finally.

So many big games in the same game week — could it get more exciting? As we move closer to the first game, let us have a look at the predictions and picks for some of the biggest games of Matchweek 30.

Manchester City vs. Arsenal

The highly coveted master-apprentice clash is a fixture a lot of Premier League fans were looking forward ever since Mikel Arteta parted ways with Manchester City and join as the head coach of Arsenal.

Gunners’ recent trips to Etihad haven’t had the results swinging anywhere in their liking. Moreover, ever since Pep Guardiola has joined Manchester City in 2016, Arsenal have only managed to beat City one time in a cup game, out of the nine times the two clubs have played together. 

Although it’s worth noticing that the Gunners were on the course of an unbeaten run of eight games before the break, and won their last three league games. Arteta’s arrival has ensured there would be no shortage in goals—there has only been one game in which Arsenal have failed to score under their new manager.

However, Man City have had a far more stable season than Arsenal. Not to mention they’ve scored the most number of goals so far this season—more trouble for Arsenal’s fragile defense.

Manchester City vs. Arsenal Betting Pick

City’s weren’t at their very best before the break—they lost two of their last four games, and all of the games had less than 2.5 goals in them.

But the hiatus looks likely to favor City more than Arsenal, with the return of Leroy Sane about to give a massive boost to the Spaniard’s side. 

I’d go with Over 3½ (-104) in this game along with Manchester City -1½ (-117). Both teams have been scoring at will in their last ten games, and prop BTTS bet could prove worthy, as well.

Spurs vs. Manchester United

Another encounter that has the spice of emotional triggers involved as Jose Mourinho is about to host his former club at home. Last time when these two teams met, Jose’s men fell short of handling the firepower of United’s young and hungry team and lost the game 2-1.

United have a lot of factors to be cheerful about in this game. For starters, their highest goal scorer, Marcus Rashford, who has scored 14 goals in 22 games is fully fit and back in the side along with their most expensive (and one of the best) players, Paul Pogba.

Their form was rejuvenated as soon as their new man Bruno Fernandes joined the side and gave them a significant uplift. United are now on a run of 11 games unbeaten in all competitions.

The red devils have scored at least one goal in four of their last five games, and only one of those games have had over 2.5 goals in them.

Spurs vs. Manchester United Betting Pick

Jose’s lily whites would go winless for four consecutive games if they fail to win this one. Their defense has been all over the place this season, and four of their last five games have had over 2.5 goals in them.

However, the return of Son Heung-min and Harry Kane would definitely instill more confidence in their side, but the Manchester United side still seem to have the edge over Spurs in the game. United’s record against the big six has been spectacular this season—they’ve done a double over City and Chelsea.

Spurs would like to sit deep in this game (usually how Jose likes going into big games). I’m expecting this to be a low scoring contest.

So, my favorite bets in this would be Moneyline Manchester United +138 along with Under 2½ (-109) goals.

Everton vs. Liverpool

There’s no better way to get premier league fans excited for a game after a long hiatus—quite easily one of the biggest games for Everton fans. Even though Merseyside Dery holds great importance in the history of English football, recent years have made the game a lot more predictable, and evidently, less fun.

Everton haven’t won a Merseyside game since 2010. Now, going against one of Liverpool’s strongest teams in the last two decades only makes their chances slimmer.

Everton have failed to register a win in their three games, in which they’ve conceded eight goals. Their poor defensive record wouldn’t pose much threat to Liverpool’s frightening front three as they’re the sixth-worst defensive team in the league.

In the reverse fixture, Liverpool, despite being without Salah and Firmino, defeated Everton by 5-2. The Reds have only lost one game the whole season—which is good enough to add extra mental pressure on the Toffees.

Liverpool’s form wavered a bit before the break. They’ve lost four of their last six games in all competitions. In the league, four out of their last five games have had over 2.5 goals in them.

The Reds only need two wins to be crowned champions of the league. Everton doesn’t look like a team that would make things any more difficult for Liverpool.

In this game, I like Over 2¾ (-121) and Liverpool -1 (-113).
