2019 WWE SummerSlam Betting Odds And Predictions
One of the most significant events of the year is upon us when it comes to professional wrestling, WWE SummerSlam. Not only is this a big event of wrestling fans, but one that is available for betting at every sportsbook online.
Wagering on the WWE has been around for decades but has seen a recent rise in popularity as sports entertainment once again has become mainstream.
“The biggest party of the summer” will take on Sunday, August 11 from Toronto, Canada at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. We’ll break down the night’s most significant matches and offer the betting odds and our predictions below.
AJ Styles (-180) Vs. Ricochet (+160) – RAW United States Championship
This should be an exciting match as both guys are accomplished wrestlers. Styles is the favorite at -180. He won the title a few weeks ago. He is riding high right now and though this could be a spot that Ricochet takes down styles in a rematch – I am not sure the WWE has that up to their sleeve right now.
This one may be a longer feud. It goes against conventional wrestling wisdom, but I am going with Styles here, and it’s one of my favorite plays on the card.
Goldberg (-450) Vs. Dolph Ziggler (+325) – RAW Singles Match
It’s tough to lay -450 when betting sports but this is a spot to do it. Goldberg should win this one handily, and it’s something that just about everyone wants to see, as well.
It’s a lot to risk, but there isn’t a safer bet on the board than Bill Goldberg.
Kofi Kingston -260 Vs. Randy Orton +200
Kofi is a genuine People’s Champion and has been on quite a roll. Both wrestlers put on quite a show over the past few weeks, and this title bout should be a special one.
I don’t see the storyline heading Orton’s direction right now, though. Kofi should retain, and Orton’s quest for a 14th World Title won’t come this weekend.
Brock Lesnar (-200) Vs. Seth Rollins (+150) – Universal Championship Odds
This has been a familiar matchup. Lesnar and Rollins have duked it out for several years now in a variety of matches. This main event hasn’t gotten nearly as much ink as other headliners, but nevertheless, it is the marquee matchup on this card.
However, I do think Rollins has a decent chance in this one. It would be a strange storyline for him to win on Sunday, but I think the outcome is probable enough that it is worth a stab at +150.
