Oneida Indian Nation To Partner With Caesars For Sports Betting In NY
The Oneida Indian Nation announced they will partner with Caesars Entertainment to begin legal sports betting operations with three New York Casinos. The NY Sports betting regulators and the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) are still pending the approval, but the word on the street is both companies are already working on a plan to get together either on late 2019 or the beginnings of 2020.
“We are eagerly awaiting the National Indian Gaming Commission’s review of this innovative new partnership involving a licensing and branding arrangement. The Oneida Indian Nation has already established Turning Stone as the preeminent New York gaming destination, which makes the property and its sister casinos fitting partners for Caesars,” said Christian Stuart, Executive Vice President Gaming and Interactive Entertainment.
Is Sports Betting Legal In New York?
A referendum in 2013 made sports betting legal in New York. That was five years ago when the actual PASPA bill was approved. The idea by Oneida Indian Nation and Caesars entertainment is to bring sports betting to Upstate New York with a licensing and branding alliance. “The Lounge with Caesars Sports.” “When it comes to partnerships, Caesars seeks collaborators who share our commitment to exceeding guest expectations, and we are confident that “The Lounge with Caesars Sports” at Turning Stone, Yellow Brick Road Casino and Point Place Casino will be a top sports betting destination in New York.”
Players from the Turning Stone, Yellow Brick Road, and Point Place Casino will have the chance to exchange Rewards loyalty points. Caesars Entertainment will also sponsor special player promotions and events at its new partner venues. The challenge is to bring a piece of Las Vegas to New York. “When it comes to sports betting, Caesars is in a class of its own. We are pleased to be joining forces with this world-renowned gaming leader.” Oneida Indian Nation Representative and Nation Enterprises CEO Ray Halbritter said.
“Like Oneida Nation Enterprises, Caesars has built its business on exceptional service, as well as a dedication to constant innovation. These shared values create the perfect synergy for a meaningful long-term partnership.” The Oneida Nation has about 1,000 enrolled Members, most of them living in Central New York. They run the Turning Stone Resort Casino, Yellow Brick Road Casino, Point Place Casino, Maple Leaf Markets, SāvOn Convenience stores, RV Park and Tin Woodman’s Flask. They are a federally recognized Indian nation in Central New York.
Just last week Caesars Entertainment and the NFL reach a deal to become the first ever casino sponsor of the NFL, we saw this coming a couple weeks ago. Both sides agreed on a three-year contract worth $30 Million. That gives the casino the right to use NFL trademarks. The league will promote the casino properties in the NFL draft and the Super Bowl as part of a long list of sponsors. “Combining the NFL with Caesars’ expertise in world-class entertainment will provide our fans unique experiences both here in the United States and abroad,” said Renie Anderson, the NFL’s senior vice president of partnerships, sponsorships and consumer products.
