As first covered by Legal Sports Report, Arkansas legalized daily fantasy sports this week when Governor Asa Hutchinson signed H 2250 into law last Monday. The Natural State is the first to legalize DFS in 2017 and the ninth since the beginning of 2016.

Unlike other states, there are no regulations or consumer protection in the bill. The tax rate is eight percent. Many other states have DFS bills in their legislature. There will almost certainly be other states that legalize DFS in 2017.
