Adam Silver Optimistic on Sports Betting
The legalization of sports betting continues to be a mainstream topic these days, especially after the Supreme Court took New Jersey’s case to offer legal sports betting within their borders. On Tuesday Night, commissioners of all major sports gathered for a panel titled “GameChangers: Creating the Future of Sports.”
ESPN reports that both NBA Commissioner, Adam Silver, and Major League Commissioner, Rob Manfred, were positive about the prospects of legalization. Silver stated that he felt the law would change, “My sense is the law will change in the next few years in the United States.”
Their quotes are nice, but they are still fighting tooth and nail against New Jersey and their fight for legal sports betting in the Garden State. It seems that legal sports betting will be in the cards eventually in the US, but only time will tell.
California Proposes Constitutional Amendment
Legal Sports Report reports that California is looking to capitalize on legal sports betting if it becomes legal on the federal level. Assemblyman, Adam Gray, announced that he would introduce a constitutional amendment on Thursday that would legalize sports betting if a change in federal law allows it.
