Dallas Cowboys Betting
Dallas Cowboys betting means putting your money on one of the NFL’s most storied franchises. Even though their postseason success has waned since the 1990s, they still have one of the biggest followings in the NFL.
Jerry Jones, the owner, has called the Cowboy’s “America’s Team.” While fans of other teams may take offense to that, it’s hard to argue with, considering their massive national and international following.
The Cowboys won two Super Bowls in the 1970s in their battles with the Pittsburgh Steelers. They were also the dominant franchise of the 1990s, winning back to back Super Bowls in 1993-94 and another in 1996.
Those were the glory days of Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, and Michael Irvin. Betting on the Dallas Cowboys when it comes to NFL betting lines is as American as apple pie. Dallas has plenty of talent, and it isn’t out of the realm of possibility that they head back to the playoffs this year.

- Try Maximize Your Bonuses – It’s always important to be aware of any bonus offers when signing up at an online sportsbook. Almost all sites offer an initial deposit bonus for players. If possible, it’s best to maximize this bonus to receive the highest amount of freeplay available. That means if you have a 50% Deposit Bonus up to $250, try to deposit $500 to receive the max bonus.
- Make Your Deposit – There are a variety of ways to deposit your funds into an online betting site. Credit cards, debit cards, and bank wires are all available options. However, we recommend bettors go with cryptocurrencies since they’re free when it comes to deposits and withdrawals.
- Choose Your Bet – Aside from sides, totals, and NFL moneylines, there are a lot more options when it comes betting the Cowboys, including futures, player and team props and live betting. There will be no shortage of bets to choose from. It’s a hard job to narrow them down.
- Line Shop for the Best Price – Line shopping is a vital skill for every sports bettor to learn. We recommend bettors hold money in multiple sportsbooks, so they can always find the best price on each bet they wish to place.
- Place Your Wager – Be sure to check and double-check your selection and betting amount before confirming or submitting your bet. Betting sites used to require two clicks for confirmation, but these days, many are opting for one-click from betting slip to confirmation.
Legality Of Betting On The Dallas Cowboys
Regulated sports betting in Texas isn’t going to happen anytime soon. The state doesn’t even allow for casinos. The only sort of gambling in Texas that is expressly legal is pari-mutuel wagering.
However, that doesn’t mean betting sports is not an option for those looking to wager in the Lone Star State or on the Dallas Cowboys.
There are certainly plenty of local bookies in Dallas that take bets. Still, that’s not the route we suggest. Instead, online sports betting offers those who want to bet sports better more betting markets, security, and most importantly, deposit bonuses.
Is It Legal To Bet On The Cowboys In Texas?
It should be clear that “keeping a gambling place” amongst other crimes are the ones banned in Texas.
Placing bets with a bookie or at betting sites is not explicitly illegal. Furthermore, no one has even been arrested nor charged for placing bets at an online sportsbook in Texas.
Online sports betting sites offer a large selection of odds, the assurance you will get paid, and generous NFL deposit bonuses, which can’t be found using local bookies. They’re the natural choice for betting the Cowboys or any other football wagers.

Popular Dallas Cowboys Team Bets
The point spread will always be a favorite for bettors when wagering on football. That’s the same for those betting the Cowboys. However, live betting has become a lot more popular in recent years, but those allow for the same pre-match bets, such as sides, totals, and moneylines.
Futures, which include season-long, player and team props, are also available. To learn more about betting on pro football, visit our NFL Betting Guide.
Dallas Cowboys Spread Betting
Though Dallas has not seen a lot of Super Bowl success in recent years, they’re still a popular bet for gamblers. After coming off a 9-7 season, they should be favored in roughly half their games this season.
Dallas Cowboys Team Futures
Those interested in betting on Dallas Cowboy futures will have their opportunity with several different markets. Super Bowl, conference and divisional futures are available at just about every sportsbook online. Some sportsbooks may offer more expanded markets here, as well.
Dallas Cowboys Prop Bets
Player and team proposition bets are available for every game of the regular season and playoffs. Many sportsbooks also now offer a combination future-prop market on the yards, touchdowns, and more on the team’s top players. We will go over some of these below.
Dallas Cowboys Odds To Win The 2020 Super Bowl
The Cowboys are around +2500 or 25/1 to win the Super Bowl. Dallas is coming off a 9-7 season last year, which indeed allows for improvement.
They haven’t reinvented the wheel regarding offensive and defensive schemes but have had plenty of roster turnover. If those adjustments work out, they may find themselves in the postseason.
The 2019 Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys are coming off a 9-7 season after making the playoffs the year before. For the most part, the coaching staff remains the same. Jason Garrett is the head coach, and his coordinators haven’t changed, but he did lose a few assistants after last season. However, the roster, especially offensively, has seen a bit of a shakeup.
Quarterback, Dak Prescott, and running back, Ezekiel Elliot remains the key cogs in the offense. However, two familiar faces are now gone. Dez Bryant was released by Dallas a few months and tight end, Jason Witten, retired.
Dallas still has the reliable Cole Beasley and have returned Terrace Williams, but have also signed ex-Jaguar, Allen Hurns, and brought in ex-Ram, Tavon Austin.
The Cowboys defense has been their weak spot in recent years. The pass rush expects to be better this year, with Demarcus Lawrence coming on as a big surprise last season. They went out and got Kony Early in free agency to add to a first-round pick, Taco Charlton. They have also remade their secondary.
Bryon Jones has moved from safety to cornerback, and the rest of the secondary is made up of Xavier Woods, Chidobe Awuzie, and Jourdan Lewis. It’s tough being in Philadelphia’s division, as the reigning champions haven’t lost a step since their Super Bowl victory.
Dallas still has a shot at a Wild Card and an outside shot in the division. There are several unknowns this season with the Cowboys, as they have remade much of their offense and defense.
Dallas Cowboys Team Rivalries
Dallas Cowboys vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Cowboys and the Steelers haven’t battled in the Super Bowl recently, but their rivalry goes back decades. They only face each other three times in the regular season but have met in the Super Bowl three different times.
The Steelers won two of those meetings in the 1970s, but lost in the 1996 meeting, in Super Bowl XXX. Both Texas and Western Pennsylvania are hotbeds of football talent, from the high school level to the professional game, making the rivalry even more exciting.
Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles
The Cowboys and Eagles also aren’t particularly too fond of each other. The rivalry began in the late 1970s as the Eagles started to content but peaked in the 1980s.
Like their rivalry against the Redskins, they are winning the all-time series record, 66-52. The Eagles went 1-1 against Dallas last season in route to a 13-3 record and their first-ever Super Bowl.
Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Redskins
The Cowboys and the Redskins probably have the biggest rivalry as far as the NFC East is concerned. They have met over 116 times, a series that the Cowboys lead 70-42-2.
However, the Redskins do lead the postseason series, beating Dallas twice in the NFC Championship game. Despite how good each team is each year, their games against each other always seem to be closely contested.
Dallas Cowboys Key Players
The Cowboys will likely have to outscore teams this year unless their revamped defense turns things around. Much of the season will come down to the performance and health of Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliot. The defense, as a whole, will also be critical to how their season turns out.
NFL Bets On Dak Prescott
Dak has many propositions on his performance this season. He had a bit of a down year in his second season, but his receiving talent was also below average.
It will be interesting to see how he does with his new wideouts. In general, I like the over on these props below because I think Dak will need to throw more with a shaky o-line in front of him and likely, a poor defense. SportsBetting.ag has several props on Dak’s 2019 player performance:
Dak Prescott – Total Interceptions Thrown In 2019
- Over 13.5 Interceptions -115
- Under 13.5 Interceptions -115
Dak Prescott – Total Passing Yards In 2019
- Over 3399.5 Passing Yards -115
- Under 3399.5 Passing Yards -115
Dak Prescott – Total Touchdown Passes In 2019
- Over 22.5 Touchdowns -115
- Under 22.5 Touchdowns -115
NFL Bets On Ezekiel Elliot
When Elliot missed time last season due to a suspension – the Cowboys offense ground to a halt. However, early reports of their offensive line this season have not been good.
Elliot is exceptionally talented, but I like him to go under his season-long propositions based on Dallas’ o-line troubles. Check out some of his props from SportsBetting.ag below:
Ezekiel Elliot – Total Receiving Yards In 2019
- Over 1375.5 Yards -120
- Under 1375.5 Yards -110
Ezekiel Elliot – Total Touchdowns In 2019
- Over 10.5 Touchdowns -125
- Under 10.5 Touchdowns -105
NFL Bets On Dallas’ Defense
How good the defense is will play a big part in the Cowboys’ success this season. They’re currently projected at 8.5 wins at most sportsbooks.
I like them to go under that total, but with so much roster turnover, it’s impossible to tell how this team will play this season.
2019 Dallas Cowboys Schedule
Dallas Cowboys are 15th in strength of schedule for 2019. They open the season at Carolina and will face off against the AFC South in inter-conference play.
Much of their tougher draws are at Cowboys Stadium, including a Week 6 game against Jacksonville and Week 13 tilt against the Saints. If their roster moves pay off and Dak can return to an elite level of play, it’s a very winnable schedule.
