Philadelphia Eagles Betting
The Eagles and the city of Philadelphia broke their long championship drought in the 2017 season after beating the Patriots in Super Bowl LII by a score of 41-33. It was the franchise’s first ever Super Bowl and their third appearance in the big game. It was a historic season for Doug Pederson and company and for the franchise that was founded back in 1933.
The Eagles have always been a favorite of sports bettors, even before they won the Super Bowl. Betting on the Philadelphia Eagles occurs all over Philly and the Keystone State. Although Pennsylvania has decided to legalize and regulate sports betting, giving casinos the green light to open their sportsbooks, there are a few more options that bettors should be aware of when betting on the Eagles.
Best NFL Betting Sites For Bets On The Eagles
How to Bet On The Philadelphia Eagles
- Choose Safe NFL Betting Site – Betting sports online is easy but can’t be done without a little bit of research. Many betting sites and sportsbooks are predatory, in that they don’t pay players once they win or have suspicious terms and conditions. We rate every site that takes US residents and offer our top recommendations
- Max Out Your Bonuses – Online sports betting sites offer deposit bonuses for players when they make their first deposit. Be sure to look for any deposit codes or promotions before placing your deposit. Do your best to deposit the maximum amount to receive the most significant bonus. For instance, if the deposit is 50% up to $1,000 in freeplay, try to deposit $2,000 to obtain the maximum bonus.
- Deposit Your Funds – Bettors can make a deposit using most major credit cards, such as MasterCard, VISA, and American Express. However, we recommend using cryptocurrencies as they are far more anonymous and expose little personal information, and come with no fees for deposits and withdrawals. Payouts are also faster.
- Select A Wager and Amount – Once you’ve made a deposit, it is time select your bet. Football betting markets have the most options. There are a lot of choices besides sides and totals. Once you know your wager and the amount you want to bet, add it to your bet slip.
- Line Shop for the Best Price – Always getting the best price available on each bet is vital to your success as a sports bettor. That’s why we advocate using multiple sportsbooks, so you can always pay the least amount of vigorish on your bets.
- Place A Bet – Placing a wager is a simple process, but one that must be done carefully. Make sure before you hit submit on your bet that you’re wagering on the correct team and have entered in the right amount.
Legality of Betting on the Philadelphia Eagles
Betting on the NFL and the Eagles has gone on a long time without regulated sports betting. So far, just a few casinos have opted to pay the 10$ million license fee and high tax rates associated with legal sports betting in Pennsylvania. Even then, there are plenty of options for bettors in the vein of local bookies and online sportsbooks.
However, first, let’s examine the legality of betting sports in PA. It is illegal to accept bets and be a bookie, without a license, but the laws on betting for an individual haven’t changed. Placing a bet on a football game or any other sporting event isn’t a state or federal crime. Once legalized sports betting comes to Pennsylvania – there is no guarantee that the odds will be -110 due to their high tax burden.
Furthermore, online and in-person betting options will likely be limited compared to offshore sportsbooks. When it comes to betting with the best odds, receiving the best bonuses, and have the most extensive selection of betting markets – online betting sites are going to be a bettor’s top choice.

Philadelphia Eagles Spread Betting
The Eagles will likely be favored in the majority of their games this season unless they lose their starting and backup quarterbacks. They’re the defending Super Bowl Champions and have the best roster in the NFL.
Philadelphia Eagles Team Futures
Futures are available on the Eagles for many different outcomes. Super Bowl futures are the most common, but sportsbooks also offer conference title futures, divisional futures, or simply if a team will make the playoffs are also available.
Philadelphia Eagles Prop Bets
The most common proposition bet is the number of wins a team will have over a season. There are also a host of team propositions during a game that can center around a team scoring first, kicking the first field goal, etc. The Eagles are projected to win ten games in 2019 with vigorish on the over at most sportsbooks.
The 2019 Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles come off their Super Bowl 2018 win with few changes. The coaching staff remains the same. Doug Pederson and his aggressive gameplans are here to stay. They also held onto Super Bowl MVP, Nick Foles, for another season. Carson Wentz doesn’t look like he will make the start of the season after tears to his MCL and ACL, but he should be back by Week 3, at the latest. Wide receiver Alshon Jeffery is also banged up, but the team expects him back in a few weeks, as well. Noticeably gone from the receiver group is Torrey Smith who has moved onto Carolina.
Veteran speedster, Mike Wallace, has come over from Baltimore to fill his role. Blount has moved on from the running back group, but Sproles is back from an ACL tear that he suffered in training camp of last season. Jay Ajayi heads the running back group that also includes hybrid back, Corey Clement. The Eagles defense wasn’t up there in points allowed, but they were elite when it came to rushing the passer, and that likely won’t change this year. Pretty much everyone has returned, and linebacker Jordan Hicks is healthy, as well.
They also added Haloti Ngata for run stopping and traded for Michael Bennett. Chris Long was brought back as a situational pass rusher and for his team leadership. A cornerback as always been the question mark for Philly, it’s easily their weakest position, but it’s not a need. They’re stacked at safety with Malcolm Jenkins and Rodney McLeod. If their pass rush keeps up, the secondary should be in great shape.
Philadelphia Eagles Team Rivalries
Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Giants
The Eagles and Giants have been going at since 1933. Philly and New York have always had a rivalry geographically, but the two teams have also been in the same division since 1993. Sports Illustrated ranked it No. 4 in the top ten NFL rivalries of all-time. They have met four times in the playoffs, splitting those games. New York leads the all-time series 85-83-2 as of the end of the 2017 season.
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Dallas Cowboys
Both of these teams have had some fierce battles in their division. The Cowboys have a 66-52 advantage in the all-time series after the 2017 season. Both cities bleed football, and this rivalry seems to get meaner every season. In the playoffs, they have gone against each other four times and Dallas has won the last three matchups.
Philadelphia Eagles vs. New England Patriots
The Eagles bested the Patriots in the 2018 season and Super Bowl, but it hasn’t always been that way in the past. While Chip Kelly and Bill Belichick were buddies, Todd Peterson, on the other hand, is one of the few coaches that has seemed to have outsmarted Bill. The Patriots took care of the Eagles in Super Bowl XXIX before they got their revenge in the 2017 season.
Philadelphia Eagles 2019 Super Bowl Winning Odds
Philly is behind the Patriots and Rams as Super Bowl contenders according to the oddsmakers. Right now, they’re +1000 or 10/1 to win the big game, which is tied with the Vikings, Eagles, and Steelers. Their roster is still loaded, but I still doubt that Wentz comes back and 100 percent from his injuries. Still, it’s hard to argue they shouldn’t be the favorite to win the Super Bowl after such a small amount of roster turnover.
Philadelphia Eagles Key Players
Two of the key players on the Eagles this season are quarterbacks. Both Nick Foles and Carson Wentz are keys to their success. Wentz is coming off a severe injury and may not be himself this season, and there are still questions surrounding Foles’ true ability as a starter. The final spot is the Eagles’ defense which must keep playing an elite level if they want a second straight title.
NFL Bets On Carson Wentz
Wentz’s ability to stay healthy directly relates to the Eagles +1000 Super Bowl odds and their hope for an NFC East divisional win. Players who come off ACL and MCL tears are rarely at 100 percent the following season. Quarterbacks need strength in all parts of their body to be able to throw accurately. I am unsure if Wentz will be 100 percent all season.
Carson Wentz – 2019 Regular Season Most Passing Yards
- Current future bet: +2200
Carson Wentz – Odds to Win the 2019 Regular Season MVP Award
- Current future bet: +900
NFL Bets On Nick Foles
If Wentz is unable to play well or gets injured again, will Nick Foles be able to lead this team again? Yes, he seems to have some talent, but the system questions will always surround his Super Bowl MVP and victory. Let’s not forget that Foles is a journeyman quarterback and has never looked as good as he did last season. Forget the Super Bowl, if the Eagles must go with Foles for most of the year, will they even win the NFC East?
Nick Foles – Total Receiving Yards In 2019
- Over 9.5 Touchdowns -125
- Under 9.5 Touchdowns -105
NFL Bets The Philadelphia Defense
Their win total also heavily relies on their defense being as good as they were last season. This is one area that I am the least worried about regarding Philly. Their pass rush is simply ferocious, and that’s half the battle in the NFL when it comes to forcing turnovers. Too many quarterbacks are awful under pressure, and the Eagles defense should still be a turnover machine, regardless of their subpar cornerbacks.
2019 Philadelphia Eagles Schedule
The Eagles are 19th in strength of schedule heading into the 2019 season. They face the best that the NFC has to offer, including visiting the Rams and Saints. Their AFC draw was also a bit tough, as they face an improved NFC South and will head to Jacksonville and Tennessee. Their ten-win projection is on point, but I think if the defense performs at the same that they did last season and Wentz stays healthy, they should hit or beat this mark.
