Malcolm Butler is now gone after his infamous Super Bowl benching. Stephon Gilmore mans the RCB spot, while Eric Rowe and Jason McCourty battle for the other position.

New England has some excellent safeties in Patrick Chung and Devin McCourty. Linebacker Dont’a Hightower is back and ready to go this season. Even with him back in the lineup, the pass rush is still a major area of need for New England.

The All-Pro tight end talked about retirement this offseason, but those rumors are behind him, and he’s now fully committed to New England.

Brady is coming off another fantastic season. At age 41, he’s as good as ever. Brady has stated that he wants to play into his mid-40s.

New England Patriots Schedule

According to look-ahead point spreads, the Patriots should be favored in 14 out of their 17 games this season. They’re favored by more than six points in half of their games.

Their schedule pits them against four top 10 opponents and eight bottom ten opponents. They’re No. 2 according to NFL strength of schedule.

The Patriots start their season with the Texans coming to Foxboro and then head to Jacksonville the week after.

New England will take on the NFC North this season, facing the Packers and Vikings at Foxboro and traveling to face Minnesota and Detroit. Their biggest late-season test comes against at Pittsburgh in Week 15.
