Florida Gulf Coast (14) versus Florida State (3) -12.5

Two in-state teams will face off tonight as the Eagles take on the Seminoles this evening.

Florida Gulf Coast is a legit squad. After all, they have 26 wins this season. However, it’s worth noting that they did lose all three games they played against teams that currently in the tournament.

FSU is clearly the better team in this contest. Many are talking about this game being close because it’s an in-state rival, but I think the Seminoles wipe the floor with their inferior opponent from the Sunshine State.

Florida State opened as a -12 favorite. The odds have gone more in their direction, despite plenty of action on FGC. About 70 percent of wagers have come in Gulf Coast, but the line has moved to -12.5 at most sportsbooks.

Pick: Florida State -12.5

Saint Mary’s (Cal.) (7) versus VCU (10) +4

St. Mary’s has been an early public favorite so far of bettors, with more than 60 percent of wagers placing on the Gaels. The line has gone in the other direction though, after opening at St. Mary’s -4.5. It’s at -4 now at most sportsbook and Pinnacle is favoring VCU on the vigorish at -4.

Quite simply, St. Mary’s is being overrated in this spot based on their stellar regular season. VCU is an excellent defense team and the Gaels rely on outside shooting to stay in games. If their shots aren’t falling – VCU may win the game outright.

Pick: VCU +4
