Baltimore Ravens vs. Kansas City Chiefs Betting Preview
The Baltimore Ravens will travel to Kansas City undefeated and feeling pretty good about themselves.
The team thinks they have found their QB of the future after Lamar Jackson balled out in the first two weeks.
But let’s hit the brakes. Jackson has faced two of the worst teams in the NFL in Miami and Arizona.
Lamar Jackson’s Numbers
He has thrown 596 yards and seven touchdowns in two weeks, but a lot has to do with how lousy the defenses he has played against have been.
The Dolphins (511.0 total yds) and the Cardinals (458.5 total yds) are the two teams that have allowed the most total yards in two games in the NFL.
What the Ravens do well is running the football. I don’t think anybody would argue that. Baltimore averages 223.5 rushing yards per game this season.
Between Mark Ingram having most of the touches and Jackson designed plays to scramble out of the pocket, the team ranks first in rushing yards.
What The Kansas City Chiefs Bring To The Game
To no one’s surprise, the Kansas City Chiefs are 2-0 and ranked first passing the football after two weeks.
The team averages 407.0 passing yards per game while QB Patrick Mahomes continues to be the favorite to win the MVP award.
The people who do the lines at MyBookie.ag chop the odds from +500 at the start of the season to +200 just after two games.
Mahomes struggled in the first quarter of the game against Oakland last week.
In the second quarter, he threw four of his five touchdown passes in the afternoon. Yes, he remains the most unstoppable quarterback in the league.
The Ravens Defense
The Ravens defense allowed 349 passing yards from rookie QB Kyler Murray last week. Murray found holes in Baltimore’s defense that I’m sure Mahomes will exploit as well.
There is a doubt about who the Kansas City primary running back for the game against Baltimore will be.
Damien Williams hasn’t practiced all week due to a knee injury, and LeSean McCoy (ankle) has been limited. If anything, tailback Darwin Thompson would likely see a boost on his carries.
However, at this point, it doesn’t matter who is out there for Kansas City. Patrick Mahomes is just a stud that can slight it to anybody the Chiefs decide to line up on offense.
Ravens vs. Chiefs NFL Week 3 Betting Prediction
The betting line dropping from a touchdown to -6.5 gives us an excellent opportunity to bet on Pat Mahomes and the Chiefs formidable offense. I just can’t see Baltimore stopping Kansas City.
Remember the Ravens defense lost a lot of good players during the offseason. Last week the unit struggled against Kyler Murray and Mahomes is on an entirely different level.
I’m not buying Lamar Jackson’s latest form either. Yes, he has posted 7 TDs in two games, but it was against a weak Arizona team and the worst team in years in the Miami Dolphins.
Going toe-to-toe with an offense like Kansas City’s can be an overwhelming task. Bet Chiefs -6.5.
