Brazil Vs Belgium Quarter Finals Pick – Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips
The second quarterfinal game of the day pits Brazil against Belgium. Belgium fell last World Cup at this stage in a loss to Argentina. Brazil made it to the final four of the tournament but lost Neymar to injury and Thiago Silva to suspension and then was beaten 7-1 by the eventual winner, Germany. Both teams are looking for more in Russia. My 2018 World Cup pick for July 6th is below and the odds can be found at Sportsbetting – Don’t Miss
Brazil Vs Belgium – Recent Form & Injury
Brazil hasn’t exploded for plenty of goals and their regular flash this World Cup, but they are playing excellent defense and capitalizing on scoring chances when it matters. They have won three straight games since drawing their opening match against Switzerland. Brazil will be without Casemiro. The Real Madrid defensive midfielder picked up his second yellow card of the tournament against Mexico. Three Brazilians currently have gotten yellows already, including Neymar, so they will have to watch out for a booking in this one.
Belgium rolled through the group stage, winning all three games, but had issues in the Round of 16 with Japan. They found themselves down 2-0 in the 53rd minute but rallied dramatically to tie the game and win 3-2 in added time. They will likely come out with the same team they used to beat Japan. The Belgians won’t have to worry about any suspensions in this match.
Belgium pk, +1/2 (+100) Vs Brazil pk, -1/2 (-120) Total: 2.5 goals
Brazil is the favorite in this one and the team that is getting the most bets on the 3×1 markets, where they are +117 to win outright in regulation time. Belgium is +277, and a draw in regulation is +244.Belgium had a hiccup against Japan, but they’re still easily one of the most talented teams in the World Cup. Talent wise, you could even argue they are deeper than Brazil. I am going to judge them more on their first three matches, rather than their hiccup, but eventual victory against Japan.
Even then, their ability to rachet up their offense and score goals is impressive. Brazil hasn’t had the scoring punch they have in past World Cups and I think this Belgium team that is full of fantastic individual talent may give them some fits. I like them to keep this one close or spring the upset.
