Belgium Vs Panama – Prediction, Odds, & Betting Tips
Group G begins with Belgium and Panama. This looks like quite the mismatch on paper, but fortunately for fans of the World Cup and soccer, in general, that’s not where they play the games. Belgium likens themselves to some of the more prominent teams in this tournament. While Panama just seems happy to be here. My 2018 World Cup pick for June 18th is below and the odds can be found at Sportsbetting – Don’t Miss 50% Up To $1000 Bonus.
Belgium Vs Panama – Recent Form & Injury
Belgium is loaded with talent, featuring Eden Hazard, Kevin De Bruyne, and many more European stars. This is a team that has been looking to get over the hump both in World Cup competition and in the Euro Cup. They have reached the quarterfinals in both the 2014 World Cup and Euro 2016. The Red Devils have won 19 straight matches and have scored seven times in their past two friendlies.
It’s been a different story for Panama in the lead up to the World Cup. They’ve been in a bit of scoring drought leading up to the tournament. They also only have won three of their last seven matches. They narrowly claimed the final spot for CONCACAF, finishing above the United States, Honduras, and Trinidad and Tobago. Captain Roman Torres has been banged up but is expected to suit up for Monday’s match.
Belgium -2 Vs Panama +2 Betting Odds
Panama is a massive favorite in three-way markets at -566. Panama is going at near 15/1 to win this one, with a draw listed at +580, the longest odds we’ve seen for a draw in the tournament so far. Belgium is also -2 goals in Asian handicap markets at -107. Panama has had a major weakness when it comes to scoring goals. They’re going to sit back and defend in this one against a talented Belgium side. They may still get some chances here and there and will hope to manufacture a set piece or counterattack into a scoring chance. They won’t be able to possess the ball much.
Still, they’re a good defensive team, and I think at +2 goals and with -113 pricing – they’re the right side here. I like them to at least push in this matchup. Who knows, this game may end up being 2-1, which would be a winner with Panama +2. I don’t think an upset happens here, but a draw isn’t as unlikely as it seems. So, I also don’t mind +580 for a draw in addition to Panama +2.
