Belmont Stakes 151 Betting Odds, Predictions, and Top Contenders
2019 Belmont Stakes 151 Betting Preview
The last stretch of the Triple Crown is set to take place on June 8 at the Belmont Stakes horse race. Ten horses are set to run the 1.5-mile track in hopes of winning the $1,500,000 purse, and the glory that comes with having the fastest horse.
War of Will, with amazing odds to win, is participating after his spectacular victory in the Preakness Stakes. Country House, who won the Kentucky Derby, will not be racing.
Top Three Contenders to Win Belmont Stakes 151
There are a few horses that every horse racing betting enthusiast needs to look at when placing any action on this race. Here are the top three horses with great odds to win the Belmont Stakes:
#1 – Tacitus (+175)
Tacitus has been the early favorite since he took a spot in the Belmont Stakes. One main reason I believe Tacitus has a slight advantage over War of Will is that the colt has had more time to rest. On top of the fact that despite having a difficult trip during the Kentucky Derby, he still managed to place third; a true testament of his potential.
Coming in at +175, oddsmakers are giving Tacitus a 36.4% chance of winning the Belmont Stakes. These are amazing odds for any horse.
#2 – War of Will (+200)
War of Will is a top favorite to win, but it will be a very tough race as he faces Tacitus; the other early favorite. This horse had an average showing during the Derby. However, this colt really showed his speed during his victory at the Preakness; winning with a race time of 1:54.34. War of Will is the only horse to have competed in all three Triple Crown races, and that will certainly take its toll.
With a 33.3% chances of winning, War of Will is right on Tacitus’ tail. Oddsmakers are confident that War of Will is going to outperform the competition like he did during the Preakness.
#3 – Everfast (+1000)
Everfast has been unable to win in six races but has come in second place twice. One of those was in the Preakness Stakes, where he was a heavy underdog. Do not let the race stats fool you, Everfast is well rested, and will have Luis Saez as his rider for the Belmont Stakes. If you are looking for an underdog to bet on, Everfast is a great pick.
A 9.1% chances of winning the Belmont Stakes doesn’t seem like great odds, but horse race betting can be very unpredictable.
Our Picks and Bets for the 2019 Belmont Stakes Horse Race
Picking the straight winner is a hard decision, but I always like seeing a comeback. Being an overall favorite, Tacitus is my pick to take first place. He has gotten plenty of rest and showed amazing speed and stamina in the Derby.
If you want to take a safer route, you can always bet on the “Place” or “Show” wagers. You may not get betting odds as good as the original numbers, but will give you some wiggle room.
