Bruins Vs. Blues Betting Prediction | NHL Stanley Cup Finals Game 3
Boston Bruins vs St. Louis Blues Betting Preview
The St. Louis Blues handled the Boston Bruins storm quite well in Game 2, and were able to steal home-ice in overtime. The Blues will host their first Stanley Cup game in over 40 years. I expect the Enterprise Center to be an absolute insane environment as fans try to help their team get the first lead of the series. Betting on the 2019 Stanley Cup finals has gotten a lot more exciting, as the Blues are surprising fans and oddsmakers.
|Bruins at Blues Betting Odds|
|Teams and Odds||Money Line||Puck Line||Game Total|
|Boston Bruins||+100||+1.5 (-300)||Over 5 Goals (-145)|
|St. Louis Blues||-120||-1.5 (+240)||Under 5 Goals (+125)|
Game 2 of the Stanley Cup finals was entirely different from Game 1. This time the Blues controlled the contest and put a lot of pressure on the Bruins. Boston seemed like they didn’t have answers for it and looked slightly more tired than their opponent. The effort they did in the first game ended up catching up, especially in the third period and the overtime.
The Blues out-shot the Bruins 37-23. Their intensity was so high that they outhit them 50 to 31. The effort was clearly on St. Louis’ side. Boston scored again during a Power Play situation. It’s clearly not the ideal scenario to be in for the Blues, but they also realized when on even strength, they are better. Or at least they were in Game 2.
Will Playing At Home Help The Blues Win?
With the change of venue for Game 3, the Blues are listed -120 in the money line to win on Saturday night. The odds given by MyBookie.ag give St. Louis a 55% of implied probability of winning this contest.
The series prices have taken a turn as well. St. Louis was +250 to win the series after losing Game 1, and now they are +110 after winning the second meeting. If you want to have valuable odds, betting on the Blues at +110 with an implied probability of 48% is one of the last chances to get them.
The Blues will enter Game 3 without forward Oskar Sundqvist. He was suspended one game for delivering an elbow to the head of Boston Bruins defense Matt Grzelcyk. The Bruins announced Grzelcyk is also out due to the injury. He didn’t even make the trip to St. Louis, so he will miss the next two games for sure.
Bruins Gets Even Odds To Win
Boston is listed +100 to steal home ice back. MyBookie is giving the Bruins a 49% chance to win this game and put the world back in order. The Bruins are also -130 in the series prices. This is the lowest asking price on their side since the start of the Stanley Cup finals. It’s a good number, but if they lose Game 3, those odds will have a lot more value entering Game 4.
The Bruins were heavily outplayed in Game 2, and that was eye-opening. Boston hasn’t met resistance from anybody in the last month. Seeing the Blues actually dominate was both a shocker and quite thrilling. Game 3 should land on the side of the home team, making this series a lot more interesting than it already is.
I expect the home team to come out swinging right from the start. Playing in front of a hungry crowd will help a lot as well. Let’s take the Blues to win Game 3 in another close game.
What’s the play? Blues -120.
