The Michigan Wolverines’ Edge to face Alabama
Michigan had what it could be considered a good season, but not close to the playoffs. Their losses to Wisconsin, Penn State, and Ohio State were too damaging to think they had any chance.
The Wolverines did have solid wins against Notre Dame and Michigan State. In both games, they scored over 40 points and allowed 14 or less. It was the two games this season where they put a complete game.
Michigan finished the season by averaging 33.2 points per game and allowed just 19.5 PPG.
Facing Alabama will be a huge test, but keep in mind they have been tested by good teams like Penn State and Michigan.
The Alabama Crimson Tide’s Edge to face Michigan
Not being in the College Football playoffs is disappointing for Bama, to the point where anybody could question if they will be interested in winning this game.
Bama’s two losses were against LSU and Auburn. Both times they allowed over 45 points.
The good news is Michigan doesn’t have the type of offense to put 40+ points on anybody, let alone on Nick Saban’s team.
Alabama averaged 48.3 points per game this season and gave up 18.8 PPG.
The one thing about betting the Crimson Tide is their excellence demands being in the top four. The last time they didn’t play in the playoffs, Bama got hammered by Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl.
Michigan vs. Alabama Citrus Bowl Prediction
Alabama is a better team than Michigan, but I have my doubts about the importance that Bama will give to this game. It means a lot more to Wolverines and especially for HC Jim Harbaugh.
The smart move is to grab the points, especially in a bowl game, with such a large spread. Bet Michigan +7.
