Wilder Vs. Ortiz Boxing Match Analysis And Betting Preview
Deontay Wilder will defend his WBC Heavyweight title against Luis Ortiz.
It would be a stretch to say this is one of the biggest boxing fights of the year. But it’s still a fight that showcases one of the best heavyweights on the planet, in a division that has become increasingly interesting in recent months.
These two battled it out previously, with Wilder winning the fight by knockout in the 10th round:
Wilder is giving Ortiz another shot on Saturday, November 23, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Let’s take a look at each boxer, what they are bringing to the ring, and the betting odds.

Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder
Wilder has done nothing but dominate, since he stepped into the boxing ring. His nickname, “The Bronze Bomber” was coined after he won a bronze medal in Olympic boxing.
He has fought 42 times and won 41 of those fights, with his only draw coming against Tyson Fury in 2018. Forty wins have come by knockout.
Wilder made quick work of Dominic Breazeale in May of this year. He knocked him out in the first round with a powerful right hand. The ref ended the contest after he did not get up after the ten-count.
Luis “King Kong” Oritz
Oritz also has an impressive career. The Cuban boxer, nicknamed “King Kong” has 32 fights with 31 wins and one loss. His lone defeat was against Wilder. Over that span, he has 26 knockouts.
He is highly motivated in his rematch against Wilder.
Since his loss to the Bronze Bomber, he has cruised through the heavyweight division. He has won three straight fights, with his last boxing match coming against Christian Hammer in March.
Who Will Win? Our Deontay Wilder vs. Luis Ortiz Predictions
We have heard talk from Ortiz’s camp that he has a different strategy for this fight, and that things will be different this time around. I am not sure I can buy into that. Even with a 4/1 price if he should pull off the upset.
Wilder may take some hits in this fight, but he has an excellent chin, as we’ve seen throughout his career. Ortiz is also much older. Although he looks good for his age – I’m not sure he has the skills or physique to pull off an upset here.
Any Chance That Wilder Could Lose?
The Bronze Bomber would have to be quite careless to lose this fight. Something he won’t do with a rematch against Tyson Fury on the line, and likely coming together if he comes out of this one with a victory.
You can lay the -610 with Wilder, but I think the better bet is the over 6.5 rounds. These fighters may be a bit cautious early and not take too many chances right away. I think a knockdown by Wilder in the later rounds is most likely the way this one plays out.
