If you’re looking at this fixture as a mid-table team going against one of the ‘Big 6’ in the league, you need to change your perspective. Arsenal is no longer a daunting team in the league, especially when they’re on the road. They’re 10th in the table right now and have only won two out of their 15 away games in this campaign.
Overall, the squad has somewhat lost their winning instinct. They’ve just won nine league games this season. Too put this into perspective, there are only six other teams in the league who have a single-digit total of wins.
Moreover, their form after the hiatus has somewhat watered-down the hopes that were fueled by their unbeaten run in 2020. They lost to Brighton and Manchester City after the restart.
The rather upsetting factor for the Arsenal team here would be the absence of their keeper, Bernd Leno, who has arguably been their best player this season. Matteo Guendouzi could possibly miss the game for a match-ban, and Calum Chambers and Pablo Mari’s absence would once again impose the fear of fielding a leaky defensive lineup.
Although, the hosts don’t seem to pose much threat to the visitors in all fairness. They did retain themselves after a 3-0 thrashing of Norwich post-break, after losing back-to-back games. Southampton is one of the worst defensive sides in the league, having conceded 52 goals.
Southampton vs. Arsenal Betting Pick
As both teams are terrible at defending, their last meeting did perfect justice to their reputation—it ended in a 2-2 draw. However, Southampton did look like the better team in that game. They created five big chances but weren’t clinical enough to get a win from the tie.
Four of Arsenal’s last five games have had over 2.5 goals. Southampton have had three out of five for the same metric. With the kind of football both teams play, I’d reckon goal-fest—if you found any decent BTTS bet, hop onto it.
As both teams are equally unreliable, over 2¾ goals bet seems to have the best value, in my opinion.

Our Southampton vs. Arsenal Pick:
Chelsea vs. Manchester City

Quite easily the most mouth-watering tie in the gameweek. Chelsea, who have wavered a bit in their recent games, managed to win three points after being a goal down to Aston Villa in their last game. Even though Stamford Bridge is one tricky place to play at (but who knows how things would pan out without fans?), Manchester City’s sublime form would give them all the reassurance they need to be the favorites in this game.
Both teams love scoring—while Citizens have netted 76 goals in the campaign so far, Chelsea are the fourth-highest team in that department, with an impressive 53 goal-tally. That brings no surprise to the fact that the last five league matches between these teams have seen 13 goals in total.
Form-wise, any team in the world right now would fear to take on this fully fit City team (barring Sergio Aguero, who picked an injury in the last game). With the luxury of five substitutes, Pep Guardiola has a lot of options to keep the tempo of the game-high till the final whistle. Manchester City has kept five clean sheets in their last seven games in the league. Although, they’ve conceded four times in their previous six away games. On the contrary, Chelsea scored at least two goals in their last six home games out of seven.
There are a lot of spicy bets in this game. My favorites would be Spread -1/2 (-133) Manchester City, Moneyline (-129) Manchester City, and over 2¾ goals.
