Cleveland Cavaliers Vs Golden State Warriors Prediction
The Golden State Warriors finished the season in second place in the NBA standings with a 58-24 record. Golden State met against the San Antonio Spurs in the first round and were able to win in five games. The Warriors then faced off against the New Orleans Pelicans in the second round. Golden State once again advanced in five games. The Western Conference Finals was between the Warriors and the Houston Rockets. Many people expected the winner to eventually hoist the Larry O’Brien Trophy. Golden State won in a tough seven game series.
Cleveland ended up finishing the regular season with a 50-32 record. The Cavaliers were in fourth place of the Eastern Conference. Cleveland met up against the Indiana Pacers in the first round. The series went a rough seven games, but Cleveland came out on top in the end. The Cavaliers then played the Toronto Raptors in the second round and swept the Raptors in four games. The Eastern Conference Finals was between Cleveland and the Boston Celtics. The Cavaliers won in seven games to advance to the NBA Finals.
The Warriors beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in both games during the regular season. Golden State won at home on Christmas Day 99-92. The Warriors then won on the road 118-108 on January 15. These two teams have created quite a large rivalry between the past three NBA Finals. Game 1 will not have a feeling out process like you find in many Game 1’s because both teams no what to expect from each other.
Cleveland Cavaliers (-115) Vs Golden State Warriors (-105)
Draymond Green is probable for Game 1 with an ankle injury. Andre Iguodala is out with a knee injury that kept him out of half of the Western Conference Finals. Kevin Love is questionable for the Cavaliers with a concussion.
The Warriors are listed as huge favorites for Game 1 laying 12 ½ points and they have a money line of -900. This implies that Golden State will win this matchup 90 percent of the time. The only upside to picking the Warriors against the spread is that they have a better payout at -105 instead of the Cavaliers -115. I believe that the Warriors are the better team and will come out strong on the Cavaliers. Cleveland struggled on the road in Boston until Game 7 and I think they will have an even harder time in Golden State. 12 ½ points is a lot to lay, but I believe the Warriors are going to cover in a dominant Game 1 performance.
