The NBA Finals continue Sunday night with the Golden State Warriors hosting the Cleveland Cavaliers. Golden State is up 1-0 in the series after winning Game 1 on Thursday night. The game will be held on ABC at 8:00 PM ET. My NBA pick for June 3rd is below and the odds can be found at Sportsbetting – Don’t Miss 50% Up To $1000 Bonus.
Cleveland Cavaliers Vs Golden State Warriors Predictions
The Warriors finished the season with a record of 58-24, which put them second in the Western Conference. Golden State then went on to knock off the San Antonio Spurs and New Orleans Pelicans in the first two rounds, both in five games. The Warriors then faced off against the Houston Rockets in the Western Conference Finals. The series was tough for both teams, but in the end the Warriors prevailed in seven games.
Cleveland has gone through an even more difficult path to reach the NBA Finals this season. The Cavaliers finished the regular season in fourth place of the Eastern Conference with a 50-32 record. Cleveland played the Indiana Pacers, Toronto Raptors and the Boston Celtics and were able to come out the top team in the East. The Cavaliers were expected to be heavily outmatched in the NBA Finals, but were able to take the Warriors to overtime in Game 1.
Game 1 was held on Thursday night in Oracle Arena in Oakland. The Warriors ended up getting the 124-114 win in overtime. Lebron James scored 51 points, 8 assists and 8 rebounds. Kevin Love dropped 21 points and 13 rebounds. Stephen Curry scored 29 points, Kevin Durant dropped 26 points and Klay Thompson put up 24 points in route to the win.
Cleveland Cavaliers (-110) Vs Golden State Warriors (-110)
Andre Iguodala is doubtful for Game 2. Iguodala has been out since the middle of the Western Conference Finals. Klay Thompson is expected to play in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals after suffering an ankle sprain. Tristan Thompson will not face a suspension after his incident at the end of Game 1. Lebron James is playing out of his mind for this year’s playoff run. James has been averaging 35 points per game, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. James put up one of the most memorable performances in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, but it still was not enough for the Cavaliers to get the win.
The Warriors are laying 11 ½ points in Game 2. Golden State also is listed at a -675 money line, which implies that they will win this game 87 percent of the time. I believe the Warriors are the better team and I agree with the spread and money line. Golden State has been almost unstoppable at home in the playoffs.
Even when Lebron James had one of the greatest performances of all time, the Cavaliers were still unable to pull off the upset, but they were able to keep it close. I do not expect James to have another 50+ point night. Unless another Cavs player steps up, Cleveland will have even more trouble keeping up. Thompson’s heath is a major concern, but with Curry and Durant, the Warriors will still be able to put up points. I am picking Golden State laying the points at home.
