Boston Celtics vs. Milwaukee Bucks Predictions
The Celtics entered this series as the second seed in the Eastern Conference. Boston finished the season at 55-27. Boston battled injury issues throughout the season but have since overcome the issues to put themselves in a comfortable playoff position. Milwaukee finished the season at 44-38, which was good enough to lock down the seventh seed in the East.
During the regular season, these two teams split the season series 2-2. Each team won a game and lost a game at home. These two teams played close matchups, but in the playoffs these teams have forgotten about past matchups. The first game of this series was held in Boston and it was a great matchup. Boston won the game 113-107 in overtime. Giannis Antetokounmpo finished the night with 35 points and 13 rebounds. Khris Middleton put up 31 points for the Bucks as well. Al Horford, Terry Rozier, Marcus Morris and Jaylen Brown each put up 20+ points for the Celtics in route to the victory.
Game 2 of the series was held in Boston again and this time the Celtics were able to pull away with a more comfortable victory. Antetokounmpo scored 30 points, but it was not enough. Brown had 30 points and Rozier scored 23 as the Celtics won the game 120-106. Game 3 of the series shifted to Milwaukee and the Bucks were able to put on a show for their home crowd. Al Horford was the leading scorer for Boston with only 16 points. Middleton dropped 23 and Antetokounmpo scored 19 in route to a 116-92 victory.
Boston Celtics +4 ½ (-110) at Milwaukee Bucks -4 ½ (-110)
Milwaukee, unlike the Celtics, has not had serious injury issues coming into the playoffs. John Henson is the only person listed as questionable for Game 4. Boston will continue to be without Gordon Hayward, Kyrie Irving, Marcus Smart and Daniel Theis.
Although the Celtics are battling injury problems, I believe Boston depth continues to give them the edge in the series. Boston earned the second seed in the East, which shows they are a much better team overall anyway. The Celtics have a legitimate opportunity to take a 3-1 series lead going back to Boston in my opinion.
The Bucks are laying 4 ½ points in this matchup, which seems like a lot of points for a seventh seed. The Celtics lost last game, which makes most people believe the Bucks will tie the series at home. I think that the Celtics will look to come back after that blowout loss and it will show on the court. I am picking Boston with the points.
