Free 2018 NBA Playoffs Expert Picks: Rockets vs Warriors Prediction (Game 6)
The NBA’s Western Conference Finals could finish up on Saturday night. The Houston Rockets took a 3-2 lead on Thursday night in Houston. The series shifts back to Golden State for Game 6, where the Warriors look to extend the series for a Game 7. The game will be on at 9:00 PM ET on TNT. My NBA pick for May 26th is below and the odds can be found at Sportsbetting – Don’t Miss 75% Up To $1000 Bonus.
Houston Rockets Vs. Golden State Warriors Prediction
The Houston Rockets put together a 2017-2018 season to remember. The Rockets finished at 65-17, which put them on top of the NBA standings. Houston is one game away from dethroning the Warriors. Houston took out the Minnesota Timberwolves and Utah Jazz each in five games.
Golden State finished second in the Western Conference and the NBA with a 58-24 record. The Warriors have gone to three straight NBA finals and need a win to keep their hopes of going to four straight alive. The Warriors knocked off the San Antonio Spurs and the New Orleans Pelicans in five games.
Game 1 of the series was back in Houston and the Warriors jumped out to a quick start. Kevin Durant dropped 37 points and Klay Thompson had 28 points. James Harden scored 41 points, but it was not enough as the Warriors coasted to a 119-106 victory. Game 2 stayed in Houston, but this time the Rockets were able to perform in front of their home fans. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green combined for 30 points. Kevin Durant dropped 38, but the Warriors could not slow down the Warriors offense. James Harden and Eric Gordan each dropped 27 points in route to a 127-105 win.
Houston Rockets +12 (-110) Vs. Golden State Warriors -12 (-110)
The series shifted back to Golden State for Game 3 and the Warriors put up the best performance of the series. James Harden led the Rockets in points with 20. Stephen Curry dropped 35 and Kevin Durant put up 25 as the Warriors offense fired on all cylinders. The Rockets could not get past the Warriors defense. Golden State pulled off a 126-85 win.
Game 4 was a game of four different periods. In the first and third period, the Warriors outscored the Rockets 62-36. The second and fourth period went in favor of the Rockets by a score of 59-30. The Rockets ended with a 95-92 win. James Harden and Chris Paul combined for 57 points. Game 5 was a close matchup throughout. Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson combined for 74 points. Eric Gordan and Chris Paul each dropped more than 20 points on their way to a 98-94 win.
Chris Paul was dealing with a right hamstring injury in Game 5 and it is putting his Game 6 appearance in question. Andre Iguodala is questionable for Game 6. Iguodala has missed the last two games and the Warriors would benefit greatly with his return. Golden State is listed at a -900 money line at BetOnline. That line implies that the Warriors win this game 90 percent of the time. Houston leads the series and has already stolen a game in Golden State. This seems to be way too high in my opinion. Golden State is listed at -12 spread with this line.
I believe the Warriors are going to pull off a Game 6 victory but laying 12 points is a little excessive. If the Warriors get Iguodala to return to the lineup then I believe they have a chance to cover the spread, but if he does not I think the game will be closer. This game is not a guaranteed win for the Warriors, so laying 12 points does not seem like a good bet. I am picking the series leading Rockets with the points.
