Free Monday Night Football Week 15 Picks – Falcons vs Buccaneers Prediction
The NFC South takes center stage to end Week 15 on Monday Night Football. Atlanta is still in the thick of the playoff race as they face the Buccaneers in what is a must-win game for them. Tampa Bay has long been out of postseason contention. The Falcons took the first game in this series at the Georgia Dome, three weeks ago, by a score of 34-20. Atlanta Falcons vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers Prediction
The Falcons are third in the division with an 8-5 after narrowly defeating the Saints on Thursday Night Football last by a score of 20-17. With both the Saints and Panthers grabbing victories this week and both sitting at 8-4 – tonight’s game becomes even more critical for them.
The only notable injury for the Falcons is that they will be without running back, Tevin Coleman. Devonta Freeman will see almost all of the rushing work in what is a pristine matchup. The Buccaneers were a dark horse pick to come out of the NFC and make the Super Bowl. Those dreams died weeks ago. They’re 4-9 after losing their fourth-straight game to the Lions last weekend, by a score of 24-21. Tampa Bay is hurting defensively. They will be without Pro Bowler DT, Gerald McCoy and cornerback, Vernon Hargreaves.
Betting Action – Odds On The Falcons
Betting action on the game has been heavy on the Falcons. They started at -6.0 at the beginning of the week and are at -6.5 at most sites but -7 at others. The total has gone up a full point after opening at 47.5 to 48.5 points. It is shaping up as a great game to bet on.
Atlanta Falcons -6.5 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers +6.5 Total: 48.5
6.5 isn’t a great line for either side unless you love the Falcons, but the vigorish at most sites is quite high at -6.5, including -119 at SportsBetting.ag and BetOnline. I would grab Buccaneers +7 if it’s available at a reasonable price, but that’s not likely to be the case, at the time of this writing.
Despite the rise in the total, I think the under makes the most sense in this game. The Falcons roasted Tampa Bay at home, and they’re down a few guys, but Atlanta is a far better team at home offensively on the turf than outdoors. This is also a division game, which teams get up for, more than non-conference or out of division games. Both teams are more focused on the run game than the masses realize. This game could still shootout, but it’s a lot less likely this one falls under based on the gameplans and playing conditions.
