The NBA season comes to an end on Wednesday night. With twelve games on the board, the NBA is ready for an exciting finish. After a long and crazy path, teams are beginning to gear up for the postseason. Fifteen of the sixteen playoff spots have been locked up. The final spot in the Western Conference Playoffs will either be occupied by the Denver Nuggets or the Minnesota Timberwolves. My NBA pick for April 11 is below and the odds can be found at Sportsbetting – Don’t Miss 75% Up To $1000 Bonus.
Denver Nuggets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves Predictions
Denver Nuggets have gone 46-35 this season to put themselves tied for eighth place in the Western Conference. Denver is entering the night after winning six straight games. One of those games includes a win against the Timberwolves. Minnesota has also gone 46-35 this season. The Timberwolves have won 2 straight games.
Denver is coming off a huge win against Portland. The Trail Blazers have already clinched their playoff spot and they could have knocked off the Nuggets with a victory. The Nuggets kept it close though and pulled away with an 88-82 victory. Minnesota had a clutch victory against the Grizzlies. Memphis has struggled all season, but the Timberwolves were able to win when they needed it. Minnesota was able to win 113-94 at home.
The first matchup between these two teams was held on December 20. The Nuggets were the host of the game. The Timberwolves won the matchup 112-104. Jimmy Butler and Karl-Anthony Towns each dropped 25 points, while Jamal Crawford scored 20 points off the bench. Jamal Murray scored 30 points for the Nuggets, but it was not enough. The second game between these teams was in Minnesota on December 27. The Timberwolves were able to win 128-125. Minnesota was led by Jimmy Butler who dropped 39 points. Will Barton scored 28 points and Trey Lyles scored 23 points off the bench.
The third and most recent game between Minnesota and Denver was on April 5. The Nuggets hosted the matchup and won 100-96. Jamal Murray led the Nuggets in points with 22. Nikola Jokic had a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Karl-Anthony Towns had 26 points and 13 rebounds.
Denver Nuggets +3 (-110) at Minnesota Timberwolves -3 (-110)
The Nuggets will be missing Tyler Lydon after he got knee surgery about a month ago. Lydon only played two minutes all season long. Minnesota’s Taj Gibson and Justin Patton are both questionable for Wednesday’s matchup. Gibson has played a key piece in the Timberwolves lineup this season. Patton has played four minutes all season long.
The Nuggets and Timberwolves are both going to put everything on the line for Wednesday nights matchup. One team will have a chance in the playoffs, while the other will find themselves with a rough start to the offseason. The Timberwolves have their own “Big 3” with Andrew Wiggins, Jimmy Butler and Karl-Anthony Towns. I believe that with all three available for the matchup, they have the better overall team. Denver has struggled to pull off a victory against Minnesota and they must play the matchup on the road. All these advantages seem to go in favor of the Timberwolves.
The game is listed as a 3-point spread. That implies that the game will go down to the wire. I believe that the Timberwolves could pull away from the Nuggets early. The Timberwolves have the better roster in my opinion and with experienced players like Jeff Teague and Jimmy Butler the Timberwolves will have what it takes to win the most important game of the regular season.
