Free NBA Expert Picks For Tonight (Dec 3): Spurs vs Thunder Prediction

Free NBA Expert Picks For Tonight Spurs vs Thunder Prediction

The NBA season has come into full swing as most teams have played twenty or more games. Sunday offers five NBA games on the board. On December 3, quite a few exciting teams hit the court. Here is my free NBA pick for Sunday, December 3. All odds for this article are from

San Antonio Spurs +4 (-110) at Oklahoma City Thunder -4 (-110)

The Spurs and Thunder meet for the second time this season on Sunday. San Antonio sits third place in the Western Conference. The Spurs have gone 15-7 on the new season. Oklahoma City was expected to be a competitor in the West this season after acquiring Paul George and Carmelo Anthony. The Thunder have struggled on the new season though. Oklahoma City sits ninth in the Western Conference with a 9-12 record.

In the first meeting of the season, the Thunder visited San Antonio. Oklahoma City dominated the first quarter, outscoring the Spurs 32-15. In Thunder like fashion though, the Spurs slowly clawed their way back into the game. San Antonio outscored the Thunder the rest of the game to win 104-101. Paul George, Carmelo Anthony and Russell Westbrook combined for fifty-three points. LaMarcus Aldridge led the Spurs with twenty-six points. Overall the game was even, but the Thunder could not get the victory in the end.

Oklahoma City – Dominates At Home Court

Free NBA Expert Picks For Tonight Spurs vs Thunder PredictionOklahoma City has won seven of their nine games on home court. The Thunder are 7-3 at home in total. Oklahoma City has won five of their last six at home, including a huge win against the Golden State Warriors. The Thunder have not lost by more than seven at home this season, and have won by four or more every time. The home crowd has been great for the Thunder.

San Antonio has gone 5-5 on the road this season. The Spurs have beat the Bulls, Heat, Mavericks, Hornets, and Grizzlies on the road. The Magic, Pacers, Celtics, Timberwolves, and Pelicans have beat the Spurs at home.

San Antonio Spurs – Hard To Beat On The Road

All the teams the Spurs have beat on the road are at a .500 winning percentage or below. The Magic is the only team without a winning record to beat the Spurs at home. Oklahoma City has a losing record, but many can argue that they belong with the winning teams. While the Thunder have struggled early, they have shown flashes of becoming a great team.

The Thunder have been one of the worst teams in the NBA when it comes to assists per game. Oklahoma City is averaging around twenty-one assists per game, which places them twenty-third in the league. The Thunder needs more ball movement from their starters if they want to start winning together. Westbrook has led the team with about ten assists per game. Paul George has averaged a little over three assists per game, while Anthony has been below two assists per game.

San Antonio Spurs vs Oklahoma City Thunder Prediction

In Friday night’s win against the Timberwolves, the Thunder had twenty-eight assists in total. If they could average that, it would be enough to place them second in the league. Westbrook had fourteen assists, while George added nine. Anthony only had one assist but took less shots and smarter shots. Anthony finished four of seven from the field with nine points. He averages nineteen points, but sixteen shots from the field per game.

The Thunder will be looking at building off Friday night’s success with a win Sunday. Oklahoma City has been very successful at home, even against good teams. I believe that the Thunder can beat the Spurs if they continue to play unselfish basketball Sunday night.
