Free NFL Week 15 Expert Picks – Patriots vs Steelers Prediction
This is easily the game of the week. The Patriots and the Steelers are the cream of the crop in the AFC and both teams are likely assured a first-round bye, barring a collapse down the stretch. These two teams have had a playoff rivalry over the last decade and may meet again in the AFC Championship. New England Patriots vs Pittsburgh Steelers Prediction
New England is 10-3 after a loss to their division rival on Monday Night Football to the Miami Dolphins. The loss makes this game even more important. The Steelers now have an edge over them in a record, but with a win, they will tie Pittsburgh in the record and have a conference tiebreaker.
Noticeably back in the lineup, this week is a tight end, Rob Gronkowksi, who was suspended last week due to a late hit in Week 13. New England will also be out run-stopper Alan Branch. He’s a lineman who has played limited snaps this year, but this is good news for Le’Veon Bell. Pittsburgh has gotten it done lately, but It hasn’t been pretty, they rallied late in back-to-back weeks where they were not good defensively. Still, they have the best record in the AFC at 11-2 and in position to likely seal home-field advantage with a win on Sunday afternoon.
Cornerback, Joe Haden, who has been sidelined the past month looks like he may play this week but is still a game-time decision. Pittsburgh has given up over 25 points a game since he left the lineup. Wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster is also questionable.
Betting Action – Odds On The Steelers
New England opened at -2.5 and that has gone to -3 at most sportsbooks. However, Pittsburgh is receiving most of the vig and is -115 at most sites or more at +3. The total opened at 53 and shot up at 54.5 at most betting sites.
New England Patriots +3 at Pittsburgh Steelers -3 Total: 54.5
My first inclination on this game was to bet New England -2.5 and if the line was still I would be tempted. However, Pittsburgh is at home, they do have an offense that can beat up on poor Patriots unit and may receive a key cog in their defense, in Joe Haden.
Also, Brady hasn’t looked too good the past few weeks. He’s been missing some weapons, but dare I say it, he, looks, old. Everyone is expecting a bounce back from New England after this loss. That may happen, but if I’m getting three points at home with the best offense in football – I’m taking it.
