Free NFL Thursday Night Week 13 Expert Picks – Redskins vs Cowboys
Thursday Night Football takes us to Dallas as the Redskins and Cowboys duke it out for a possible playoff position. It looks grim for both Washington and Dallas to make the postseason with identical 6-5 records, but it is still possible if other top teams falter down the stretch. However, another loss for either side would eliminate their chances at a playoff spot – making this game a must-win for both franchises.
Dallas defeated the Redskins in their first meeting at FedEx Field on Oct. 29 by a score of 33-19. However, the Cowboys had Ezekiel Elliot back then and were much healthier on defense. All odds from this article will are from SportsBetting.ag
Washington Redskins +1.5 at Dallas Cowboys -1.5 Total: 44 points
The Redskins had dropped two straight games before defeating a broken-down Giants team in New York on Thanksgiving. Washington’s defense held down Eli Manning, winning the game 20-10, thanks to a big game by Jamison Crowder.
They’re still dealing with several injuries to their offense. With Jordan Reed again not practicing and Terrelle Pryor banged up, as well. The Redskins offensive line has been makeshift all year, and several guys are playing hurt, including left tackle, Trent Williams.
It’s been a rough road for Dallas since losing Elliot to suspension. They have lost their last three games, including losing 28-6 on Thanksgiving to the visiting Chargers. The offense has stalled without Elliot on the field, and Dak Prescott looks to finally be regressing from his standout rookie season.
The Cowboys will be without top pass rusher, Sean Lee, but guard Zach Martin looks to suit up for Thursday’s contest. His presence will be massive for Dallas, as he is PFF’s No. 2 rated overall guard in the league.
Betting Odds On The Cowboys
Dallas opened as a -1.5 favorite in this one, but bettors have not been buying it. Over 70 percent of tickets have come in on the visiting Redskins, though, the line has not budged so far. The total opened at 44 points and has not moved yet.
Washington Redskins vs Dallas Cowboys Prediction
With the whole world being down on Dallas – I think this is an excellent buy-low opportunity. Also, we haven’t seen the line move yet, despite massive action on the Skins. The odds may get better, but it would indeed be nice to lock in anything under -3, so I don’t blame you if you want to get in a bet now.
Let’s also remember that Dallas was built on the offensive line and that the loss of Elliot hurt them, but it’s likely being overstated, despite their poor results since he’s been lost to suspension. I still believe in this line as one of the best units in the league if not the best and Dak as a dynamic QB that can make big plays.
Furthermore, this is a division game, at home, for Dallas against a weak Redskins defense. Washington is also missing a lot of weapons on offense, and it would not shock me if they had a harder time than most think moving the ball against Dallas.
