Free NFL Week 12 Expert Picks: Packers vs Steelers Prediction
Sunday ends with a somewhat lopsided game, at least, on paper. Green Bay travels to Heinz Field to take on the Steelers on Sunday Night Football. The Packers are still hanging in the playoff picture (barely) as they await Aaron Rodgers’ possible late-season return. However, a loss this week would likely knock them out of contention.

Green Bay Packers +14 at Pittsburgh Steelers -14 Total: 43.5
Backup Brett Hundley hasn’t looked great in any of his starts for Aaron Rodgers, but he’s been serviceable in some and downright awful in others. Last week, he was downright awful. The visiting Ravens dominated Hundley and the Packers, winning 23-0. Defensively, Green Bay has been stronger this year but hasn’t been able to get much rest as of late, due to Hundley’s lack of sustained drives.
The Steelers are coming off a Thursday Night win at Tennessee. Pittsburgh dominated the Titans 40-17 to improve their record to 8-2 and look almost sure to get a first-round bye in the AFC playoffs. There isn’t a lot bad to say about the Steelers right now. On both sides of the ball, they’ve been great. They will be without wideout, JuJu Smith, this week, but Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell soak up most of the usage on that side of the ball.
Betting Odds On The Steelers
Pittsburgh opened at -13.5, but that line moved to -14 early in the week. Bettors have favored Pittsburgh. About 70 percent have come in on the hometown team. The total opened at 41.5 and has been bet up to 43.5
Green Bay Packers vs Pittsburgh Steelers Prediction
I lean towards the Packers in this one at +14, but I don’t think that’s the best play in this game. Pittsburgh’s defense has been excellent in recent weeks, but they have lost Joe Haden in the secondary, and his presence has been underrated. I also think their schedule has been a bit softer than most have considered. It leaves me feeling their defense is a bit overrated.
Offensively, Pittsburgh went to the no-huddle on their first drive in last week’s win and scored easily. They didn’t score another touchdown in the first half, but then when back to it in the second half and began scoring at will. I think they will run the hurry-up offense more often in this one and they should have no issues scoring against Green Bay’s defense.
The total of 43.5 feels awfully low when I add up these factors.
