Free NHL Picks For Tonight (Dec 5): Ducks vs Golden Knights Prediction
Tuesday night is booked with ten games of NHL action. With twenty teams in action, it is bound to have some excitement fill the night. Here are my free NHL picks for December 5. Odds can be found at BetOnline.
Anaheim Ducks (+120) at Vegas Golden Knights (-132)
The Golden Knights have jumped out to a surprising 16-9-1 start to the season. Vegas has earned the second-place position in the Pacific Division. Anaheim has been disappointing this season, and they find themselves at 11-11-5. The Ducks are sixth-place in the Pacific Division standings.
The Ducks have had some serious difficulty recently due to injuries. In their last seven games, the Ducks have gone 1-4-2. Anaheim has been without many players such as Ryan Kesler, Ryan Getzlaf and Patrick Eaves. The Ducks are coming off an impressive game against the Predators. The Predators have been one of the hottest teams in the NHL and Anaheim took them to a shootout in Nashville. In the end, Nashville got the win, but Anaheim put up a solid fight.
Vegas was one of the hottest teams at home to start the season, but have looked beatable recently. The Golden Knights have lost three of their last four. The Golden Knights only win was against the Coyotes in overtime. Vegas has gone 2-1 at home in their last three, but both wins required extra time. With the Ducks playing tighter games recently and Vegas not being able to put away teams in regulation, I believe the Ducks have a chance to win this one.
Anaheim has had its fair share of injury problems, but they could be getting some players back for Tuesday night’s game. Jakob Silverberg and Rickard Rakell both have the chance to come back for tomorrow night’s game.
The Ducks and Golden Knights played one game before Tuesday night’s matchup. Vegas visited Anaheim and won the game 4-2. The Ducks jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but after allowing four unanswered goals, lost. The Ducks will need to play better hockey to finish out the Golden Knights this time around.
John Gibson and Malcolm Subban are expected to get the start in net for their respective teams this time around. Gibson has gone 8-10-1 this season. He has posted a .920 save percentage and a 2.98 GAA. The Ducks have gotten solid goaltending from Gibson, but will need to give him some offensive help if they want to beat Vegas.
Anaheim Ducks vs Vegas Golden Knights Prediction
Malcolm Subban has played in only eight games because of injury issues early. At one point the Golden Knights were without Subban, Oscar Dansk and Marc-Andre Fleury. Right now, the only two goalies out are Dansk and Fleury. With goalies coming and going, it can be hard to find consistency in each netminder. Subban has played great, but has had his share of struggles as well. Subban has a save percentage of .926 and a 2.19 GAA.
As a -132 money line, Vegas is expected to win this game fifty-seven percent of this time. I believe if Anaheim can get Rakell and Silverberg back into the lineup it should be closer to fifty-two percent. Anaheim has been able to compete recently, but Vegas has seen its share of struggles. I like Anaheim as an underdog in this matchup.
