Free NHL Picks For Tonight (Nov 24): Jets vs Ducks Prediction
The Thanksgiving break has come and gone for the NHL and the games are set to start back up on Friday. November 24 offers fourteen games on, which will be filled with overtimes, upsets and close battles. Here are my best picks for Friday, November 24 NHL games. Odds can be found at BetOnline.
Winnipeg Jets (+104) at Anaheim Ducks (-115)
Winnipeg has come out strong on the new season after missing the playoffs last season. The Jets are sitting comfortably in second place of the Central Division with a 13-5-3 record. The Ducks are fifth in the Pacific Division with a 10-8-3 record.
Winnipeg is winners of five of their last six games and they are 6-3-2 on the road this season. The Jets have been hot since starting off the season 0-2. Winnipeg will look to continue their early season dominance with a road win against Anaheim.
The Ducks lost their last game after blowing a 2-0 lead to the Golden Knights. Before that, the Ducks had three straight wins against Buffalo, Florida and San Jose. The Ducks will be trying to prove they are still a legitimate team with a win against a good Jets team on Friday night.
The Ducks have had injury issues this season. Anaheim’s captain, Ryan Getzlaf, and center Ryan Kesler highlight the list of notable injuries. Ondrej Kase, Patrick Eaves and Jared Boll are also injured. Anaheim have found ways to remain somewhat successful in their absence, but have continued to struggle against top-tier teams. I believe this will continue against the Jets.
Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler have both led the team in points. Each player has twenty-five points. Scheifele is tied with Laine for the team lead in goals with eleven. Nikolaj Ehlers and Kyle Connor round out the top five in points. The Jets have scored sixty-eight goals, which puts them tied for seventh with the Colorado Avalanche.
Rickard Rakell and Corey Perry have stepped up to lead the team in points in the absence of Kesler and Getzlaf. Rakell leads the team in goals and points with eight and eighteen. Corey Perry has sixteen points for second place on the team.
Winnipeg Jets vs Anaheim Ducks Prediction
Goaltending will be a tight battle in Friday night’s matchup. John Gibson and Connor Hellebuyck are expected to get the start. Both goalies have done a great job leading their respective team this year. Gibson has posted a .924 save percentage and 2.86 GAA in seventeen games played for the Ducks. Hellebuyck has a .925 save percentage and a GAA of 2.45 in sixteen games. Each goalie is very similar in stats, which means either one can steal the game on Friday night.
As you go down the line, the Jets and Ducks are very similar teams. Anaheim has a -115 money line, which is saying that they have a fifty-three percent chance of winning. I believe that with the injury issues, the Ducks are having that the Jets are the better team. Winnipeg has been able to find the net more consistently, while also posting up great numbers in net. The Jets should be closer to favored if not favored completely in this game. I believe this make the Jets a great pick in this game.
