Free NHL Picks For Tonight (Nov 24): Sharks vs Golden Knights Prediction
The NHL returns on Friday after taking a day break for Thanksgiving. Fourteen games are scheduled for November 24. Here are my best bets for Friday, November 24. Odds can be found at BetOnline.
San Jose Sharks (-106) at Vegas Golden Knights (-104)
Vegas and San Jose will meet for the first time this season. Both teams are battling for the Pacific Division. Right now, the Golden Knights hold the first-place spot in the Pacific with a 13-6-1 record. As an expansion team in their first season, the Golden Knights are surpassing all expectations. San Jose has gone 11-8-1 which has earned them the fifth spot in the Pacific Division standings.
The Golden Knights have been nearly perfect at home this season. The Golden Knight’s only loss came in their second home game of the season to the Detroit Red Wings. Vegas has gone 3-0 in their last three games since losing 8-2 to the Edmonton Oilers.
San Jose has lost three of their last four games. The Sharks beat the Arizona Coyotes 3-1 last Wednesday night. San Jose has gone 5-5-1 on the road. They will not have an easy time on the road in Vegas, which has proven to be a tough place to play early in the season.
The Golden Knights have played five different goalies on the season, but have still been successful. Maxim Lagace has been getting a lot of time recently, but Malcolm Subban is close to returning. Lagace has posted a .873 save percentage and a GAA of 3.51 in eleven games played. Subban has played in three games this season posting a .936 save percentage and a 2.06 save percentage.
The Sharks are likely to start Martin Jones in Friday night’s game. Jones has played solid and unlike many of the Golden Knight goaltenders, has not had injury problems. Jones has a .929 save percentage and a 2.03 GAA on the season. Goaltending will play a huge role in Friday night’s matchup.
Early in the season, Vegas looked like James Neal would need to carry the team for them to be successful. Neal continues to lead the team in goals but is behind David Perron and William Karlsson in points. The Golden Knights have gotten a lot of help from their depth forwards. The spread of scoring for Vegas looks to continue to work as they exploit mismatches in the lineup.
San Jose Sharks vs Vegas Golden Knights Prediction
The Sharks have been a very defensive team this season. San Jose has only scored forty-nine goals, which is a league worst. On the other side, the Sharks have only allowed forty-four goals, which is the league’s best. The Sharks will need to enforce their defensive style early if they want to take down the Golden Knights.
Both teams are mostly even on the spread, but the Sharks are slightly favored. The Golden Knights have been underdogs at home five times on the season. In those matchups, the Golden Knights are undefeated. The Sharks should be underdogs in this matchup. Vegas is the number one team in the division and are nearly perfect at home. As an underdog, even a slight one, I believe the Golden Knights are the best bet in this game.
