Anaheim Ducks vs Arizona Coyotes Predictions
The Coyotes have been one of the worst teams in the NHL. Arizona enters the night 17-33-10, but they have won four of their last five games. The Coyotes are 8th place in the Pacific Division. Anaheim has gone 31-20-11, which has been good enough to put them in a playoff position. The Ducks are in 3rd place of the Pacific Division.
Arizona and Anaheim met for the first time back on October 5. The game was the first matchup of the season for both teams. The Coyotes jumped out to a dominate lead early. Arizona was up 4-1 around the halfway point of the second period. Anaheim battled back though. The Ducks scored four unanswered goals to win 5-4. Andrew Cogliano, Corey Perry and Rickard Rakell all had three points to lead the Ducks to victory.
The Coyotes and Ducks played a second time on December 31. The Ducks hosted the second matchup as well. Arizona kept it close throughout most of the game. The game was tied 2-2 with ten minutes left in the third period, but the Ducks came on strong in the last nine minutes. Anaheim ended up pulling away with a 5-2 victory. Antoine Vermette led the Ducks in points with a goal and two assists. John Gibson turned away 23 shots for the Ducks.
Ryan Miller is expected to be in net for the Ducks. Miller has gone 15-8-4 for Anaheim this season. He has a .925 save percentage and a 2.46 GAA. Miller has been one of the better backup goalies this season. I expect Miller to shine on Saturday night.
Anaheim Ducks -1 ½ (+195) at Arizona Coyotes +1 ½ (-225)
Antti Raanta has gone 12-15-6, which is a pretty good record considering the overall record the Coyotes have. Raanta has a save percentage of .922 and a GAA of 2.53. He will need to put together a solid outing if he wants to pull off the upset.
The Ducks enter the night on a four-game winning streak. Anaheim has not been beaten by the Coyotes yet this season. I do not think that will come to an end this matchup. Arizona lost their last game, which ended a four-game winning streak.
Anaheim is the favorite in this matchup, but they are a +195 against the one-and-a-half-point spread. That line implies that the Ducks will only win the game by that spread thirty-four percent of the time. I believe the Ducks are the better team by far. Anaheim could easily run away with this game and with such a big payout, I believe this is the best bet.
