Free NHL Picks For Tonight (Nov 16): Predators vs Wild Prediction
November 16 will have twelve NHL games. With many divisional battles like the Predators and the Wild, there will be many good games to watch. Here are my picks for Thursday’s games. Odds can be found at BetOnline.
Nashville Predators (+112) at Minnesota Wild (-124)
Both Nashville and Minnesota have been good as of recently. Nashville is riding a five-game winning streak, while the Wild are on a three-game winning streak of their own. The Predators have been the better team on the season going 10-5-2. The Wild struggled to start the season, but have since been able to get their record up to 8-7-2. This will be the first of five matchups between the two teams.
Minnesota has not allowed a goal in their last three games. Devan Dubnyk has played in all three. He shut out the Canadiens once and the Flyers twice. This has brought Dubnyk up to an impressive .926 save percentage and a 2.36 GAA on the season. If Dubnyk gets the start, he will be tough to score on, but he cannot keep the shutout streak going on forever. The Predators offense has been doing well this season, so they will challenge Dubnyk on Thursday night.
Nashville will likely give the start to Pekka Rinne, who has been playing on another level since last season’s playoff run. This season Rinne has posted a .926 save percentage and a 2.29 GAA. I expect Rinne to keep up his success against a Wild team that has been relying on Zucker for offense as of recently.
Minnesota’s offense has been running almost solely through Jason Zucker. Zucker has seven goals in the last four games. In those four games the Wild have scored a total of nine goals. If the Wild want to keep up the streak, they will need to find other players to step up and score. Zucker leads the team in points with fifteen. Eric Staal is close behind with fourteen.
Nashville’s offense has been doing great on this five-game winning streak. In the last five games, Nashville has score twenty-three goals, which means they are a little over four goals per game on average. The Predators are averaging around thirty shots per game during their winning streak as well. With this type of offensive production, Nashville will likely be able to find the back of the net on Dubnyk, which has not been easy as of late.
Nashville Predators vs Minnesota Wild Prediction
Kyle Turris will be playing his third game with Nashville after being a piece in the blockbuster trade that sent Matt Duchene to Ottawa. Turris has scored a goal and added two assists with Nashville. Not only has he helped with scoring, he has also given Nashville one of the best center groups in the league. Turris and Ryan Johansen are slotted in the top two lines, which allows Colton Sissons and Calle Jarnkrok to fill out the third and fourth lines.
On this winning streak, Nashville has been underdogs twice. Both times Nashville pulled out a solid victory. Now the Predators are underdogs to the Wild, who despite their recent success, have had some issues. I believe this is a great pick for Thursday night.
