Free Saturday Night Football Picks Bears vs Lions Prediction

Saturday football, it begins! This one isn’t going to be highlighted on anything’s what-to-watch schedule, but it does have divisional implications for Detroit and their postseason hopes. They’re currently on the outside looking in on the playoff picture, but do have promise down the stretch, depending on the performance of other teams. Chicago Bears vs Detroit Lions Prediction

Free Saturday Night Football Picks Bears vs Lions PredictionChicago has played better football in recent weeks and their defense continues to be underrated. They dominated time of possession against the Bengals last week, winning 33-17 at Cincinnati. The Bears are still 4-9 on the season but are coming down the stretch playing decent football.

Detroit is hanging on with a 7-6 record after narrowing defeating the Buccaneers on the road last week by a score of 24-21. The Lions have had an up and down season but still, find themselves tied with the Packers for second in the NFC East. Detroit defeated Chicago 27-24 on Nov. 19 to win the first leg of the season series.

Betting Action – Odds On The Lions

Odds opened at -6.5 but have now gone down to -4.5 and -5 in favor of the Lions. Bettors have partially favored Detroit regarding the number of tickets. The total opened at 44 points and has not moved off that number at most sportsbooks.

Chicago Bears +4.5 at Detroit Lions -4.5 Total: 44

Based on the Lions record, this would seem like a spot where they would do well, especially considering that they are still in the mix for a playoff spot. However, Detroit continues to be overrated. In a division game, with less than a touchdown separating the teams between the odds – I am liking the Bears.

Defensively, Chicago continues to go under the radar, even with a few injuries. They prevent big plays and keep themselves in the game. John Fox runs a mediocre offense that is heavily focused on the running game, even when behind, but that game plan, may still have success against the Lions. I am not in love with this play, but the Bears are getting an extra point or so then they should.
