Indianapolis Colts vs Baltimore Ravens Prediction
The Colts have long been out of playoff contention. Without Andrew Luck and a poor defense, that has multiple injuries, they haven’t had much success this season. Even with Luck healthy, it’s highly unlikely this team had any playoff hopes. Indianapolis saw their record fall to 3-11 after a 13-7 loss at Buffalo last week, where they fell in overtime in a game that was mostly a blizzard. With Chuck Pagano and the rest of the coaching staff on the hot-seat to be let go, they do have something to play for (their jobs) in the final two weeks of the year.
The Ravens need some help to get into the postseason now but have an excellent shot. They sit just outside a Wild Card spot, with the Chiefs and Titans holding identical records at 8-6. They demolished the Browns in Cleveland by a score of 27-10 last week. Injury-wise, they’re relatively healthy. They will likely be without wide receiver Jeremy Maclin this Saturday, which should increase the workloads tight end, Ben Watson, and wide receiver, Mike Wallace.
Betting Action – The Odds On Ravens
There hasn’t been much movement on this game some books are sitting at -14 in favor of the Ravens, but the number you should look for is -13.5 if you’re interested in them. Betting action, regarding tickets, has been about 50/50 between the two teams. The total opened at 41 and is listed at 40.5 at some sportsbooks.
Indianapolis Colts +13.5 at Baltimore Ravens -13.5 Total: 41
It’s tough to take Baltimore seriously as a -13.5 or -14 favorite, considering the struggles they have had on offense this year, but this may be the spot to do it. The Colts defense is decimated, and the Ravens have shown the ability to score in recent weeks. Dare I say, their offense looks explosive?
The primary issue in this game for Indy’s offense is Brissett’s insistence of holding onto the ball. He has played better than expected this season, but he holds the ball far too long which results in sacks. This will result in turnovers and a game that could blow out quicker than expected. Their defense is excellent, and they should have no issues coming with the blitz all day if they should get a nice lead. Lay the heavy points with Baltimore.
