Free Super Bowl 2018 Expert Picks – Eagles vs Patriots Betting Over-Under Total
Philadelphia Eagles vs New England Patriots Predictions
We’ve got a lot of content for the NFL’s big finale between Philadelphia and New England. I break down the game from both sides and got you my Super bowl pick against the spread. Also, here’s our top recommended sportsbooks and the bonuses for the Super Bowl. Our focus in this article will be on the total, which I think is the better option than betting a side – at least at the time I am writing this. My Super Bowl 2018 pick over/under totals is below and odds can be found at Sportsbetting – Don’t Miss 75% Up To $1000 Bonus.
Odds Movement On The Total
Bettors have favored the over so far, with about 60 percent of bets or more coming in with hopes it goes over the 48.5 number. The total opened at 46 points and is now at 48 and 48.5 at most sportsbooks. Some off-market books may have the number at 49 points.
Analyzing The Total
One thing to realize when betting sports is that most of the general public favors betting the over. In many sports, they don’t bet enough to affect the line, and that is still the case in the NFL, at least, for the most part. In the Super Bowl and other high profile games, they do have the ability to move the lines, however.
By default, you should be betting more unders than overs – that goes for just about every sport. So, on the biggest game of the year, we’re typically looking to bet under. So far, the total has moved in favor of the over.
However, I think there is a lot of value on the under in this game, if it closes at 48 points or higher. New England defense has been strong to close out the season and into the playoffs. Though I doubt their ability to stop Philadelphia – I could be wrong in this area.
New England’s ability to move the ball should be questioned more in this contest. The Eagles defense is excellent against tight ends and over the middle of the field, right where their offense likes to operate. They’re also excellent against pass-catching running backs.
The Eagles have scored prolifically this season, and that’s the one way I could see this game going over. I still think the Patriots defense is no match for their offense. However, a 24-21 scoreline makes a lot more sense for this type of game.
