Golden Knights Vs. Capitals Predictions – 2018 Stanley Cup Finals Betting (Game 4)

The Stanley Cup Finals continue Monday night as the Vegas Golden Knights look to even the series before it shifts back to Las Vegas for Game 5. Washington will look to continue the dominant performance they put up at home in Game 3. The game will be on at 8:00 PM ET on NBC. My picks for tonight is below and the odds can be found at Sportsbetting.ag – Don’t Miss 50% Up To $1000 Bonus.

Vegas Golden Knights Vs Washington Capitals Predictions

The NHL was taken by storm by the Vegas Golden Knights this season. In their first season, Vegas went 51-24-7, which was good enough to give them the top spot in the Pacific Division. Vegas then went on to beat the Los Angeles Kings, San Jose Sharks and Winnipeg Jets to earn them a spot in the Stanley Cup Finals. Vegas has only been down once in a series before playing the Capitals. The Golden Knights fell 0-1 to the Winnipeg Jets, but stormed back to win four straight games.

The Capitals have finally exercised their playoff demons to reach the Stanley Cup Finals. The icing on the cake for Washington was the fact that they beat the Pittsburgh Penguins to advance past the second round. Washington also beat the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Tampa Bay Lightning. Game 1 of the series was in Vegas and the Golden Knights came out ready to win. Vegas pulled off a 6-4 victory. Tomas Nosek scored two goals and Reilly Smith scored a goal and added an assist. Marc-Andre Fleury turned away 24 shots. Braden Holtby had 28 saves.

The Capitals pulled off an upset in Game 2, largely due to the play of Braden Holtby. Washington was led by Lars Eller, who scored a goal and two assists in the 3-2 victory. Holtby stopped 37 of 39 shots. Fleury had 23 saves. Game 3 shifted back to Washington and the home crowd was ready to welcome their team back. Capital One Arena was rocking, and Washington gave them a 3-1 victory in return. Tomas Nosek scored the lone goal for the Golden Knights. Evgeny Kuznetsov scored a goal and an assist. Alex Ovechkin scored a goal for the second straight game. Holtby had 21 saves. Fleury had 23 saves again.

Vegas Golden Knights (+116) Vs Washington Capitals (-128)

Marc-Andre Fleury has a save percentage of .937 in the playoffs and a 1.95 GAA. Fleury will get the start again in Game 4, but he will need to step up against the Capitals. Fleury has a .875 save percentage in the Stanley Cup Finals. Braden Holtby has been a big reason for the Capitals back to back wins and their success in the playoffs altogether. Holtby has a .922 save percentage and a GAA of 2.13 in the playoffs. He has a save percentage of .915 in the Finals.

The Capitals are listed at a money line of -128, which implies they win this game 56 percent of the time. Washington played a great game at home, but Game 4 will not have the same energy as the first Stanley Cup Final game at home. I believe this game should be closer to even with how closely these two teams have competed.

Washington will look to take a stranglehold on the series, but the Golden Knights also realize how much they need a Game 4 win. Vegas is going to come out much more aggressive, which could allow them to control the pace of the game. If the Golden Knights can slow down Alex Ovechkin, I believe they could pull off the upset in Game 4.

Free NHL Playoff Consensus Pick: Vegas Golden Knights +116
